Thoughts on taking Fred?

I think you've made a bid already but we want more.

 

I think he's the type of player Marco Silva likes, good tackler and passing.in defensive and central midfield role, so can be competition for Reed & Lukic, but I can't see him starting in front of Palhinha unless he's injured or suspended.
I do think you've over priced him as he wasn't a regular 90 minute player for you last season, and I expect him to be a squad player as well for us.

 

Tbh he's not a great tackler. He's good when he gets it right but far too inconsistent. His positional play is the problem and he ends up on the wrong side of the player to the ball far too often, and just takes the player, giving away too many fouls. He'll go 3/4 games like that then have one where he gets it right and has an absolute blinder bcos the rest of his game is decent.

When he wins possession or gets the ball in midfield what he's good at is turning defence into attack. He's a decent passer, alright link up play, strength, and has a bit of vision about him. If he actually got his tackling right he'd be a very good player which is what makes watching him so frustrating.

Agree Palhinha is the better player. Probably needs to cut out the rash challenges but his aren't a problem with position, it appears more to be over enthusiasm and aggression than anything else.

2 good signings so far, and a few to follow, it would seem.
One o hopefully miss out on is Demarai Gray, I have seen him many times at Leicester and on tv for Everton, you will be lucky to get 20 mins a game out of him. He has a very high opinion of himself, but the moans from the stands says otherwise.
I'm sure someone will come through the door, we haven't seen coming, and hopefully not in the 11th hour, but that is the nature of this system.

The Mitro saga still rattles on, with Al-Hilal rumours offers going from £20m to £23m £35m £40m £47m in the space of a month.
I suspect when we accept, Al Hilal will pull out. It seems the other Saudi PIF teams are upset that Al-Hilal have been allowed to spend over £230m and they have been given a lower budget from the funds.
Tosin Adarabioyo rumour to be leaving for Monaco but Fulham turn down £8m offer. Tottenham Interest ? I suspect he'll leave once we have signed adequate CB cover

Concerning speculation that Palhinha is wanted by Bayern Munich, confirmed by Silva in pre Man City chat.
Harrison Reed is wanted by Wolves in his last year of contract.

 

This is not the news anyone of us want to hear. I hope we stand firm, both players have been great for us. Palhinha is worth at least 12 points on the board, he would be a massive loss. Still got 4 years on his contract and an option for a further year - we don't need to sell. I hate this late transfer window period.

 

We're looking at Hojbjerg and McTominay, if Palhinha leaves, neither of these seem to be Fulham material to me.
And if Harrison leaves, we're in big, big trouble............., albeit, we are likely to be if Palhinha jumps ship.

 

I hope I'm not speaking too early but just seeing now that Palhinha deal is off.. I really hope so. This has been a really poor transfer window for us, what a mess.

 

Yes, Palhinha and Tosin staying put, so a better transfer window than it looked earlier today. The club seem to have bid on several from bigger clubs, but all have rejected us, it's tough to buy known quality.
