Moving house is a pain in the arse and I don't think people realize that (at L1 level) these players haven't got multiple people sorting all that sort of stuff out for them. At Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea and all those clubs, yes it's all sorted. Just wander into the gaff and ask them to change the curtains and jobs a guddun. Different ballgame at our level though imo. The fanzines and muppets on Twitter think it's all the same throughout the pyramid when it's not.
All the players we have brought in so far are a step up and can play at a very good level in the league above, or have the pedigree to do so - if not higher. If we get 4 more in like that, as round pegs for round holes, I'll be delighted. If we neen another 1 or 2 from league 2 who are top prospects to make the step up, I'm happy with that too. are you all settled in now fella? i'm in the cotswolds sunday/monday, and again for the BH weekend end of August. western edge nr a place called Berkeley.
Mind you all these new posters and not quite new posters Make it interesting reading However I’m still here
we're trying to buy a house about half a mile away from where we live. it absorbs every spare minute and I'm ****ing sick of it. i want to kill the estate agents and my wife wants to kill me. its great
In between a couple of people ****ting themselves thinking we are going to be rock bottom come September 1st, does anyone have any transfer rumours?
We really would like a bungalow However we have lived in this house since new and put a lot of love in it We are really comfortable and find it hard to move on
Since I left the parents gaff I've had 2 different houses with our lass (nor ) and the experience has been horrible both times. If I'd have been expected to just ignore all that stuff and 'get on with my job on a Saturday and score goals' I'd have failed miserably until I knew we were sorted. The players at this level arent too different imo. They aren't Pogba, Haarland etc where it's all sorted for them.
Not really, having to work as you're sorting the place out is tiring and I've done it so often the novelty's worn off tbh. Spending the prior 15 months in a French lockdown didn't help. We're near Bourton on the Water if you're passing and fancy a pint.
No doubt there will be some fans turning on the team after 1 game if we lose to wigan, and writing the season off.
Because we seem to have some fans who think its just a overnight thing to change the whole structure of the club, and are just going to spend millions.
Evven if we dont sign anybody before thhe season starts, why would you have to right off 15 pts! Theres nothing to say we cant win some games with the current squad
i rarely do this, but if you cannot see the difference between the past couple of seasons and the way we have been playing in the pre-season games then you cannot have watched the team much. while i have to agree it is not a '90 minute constant' and i don't think anyone has tried to claim that it is, there is a definite change to a more forward passing game...no one that i know of will have 90 minutes of high press, it just does not work, players will have maybe a lead player and he will decide when to press and others will follow but you will not see this across a full game. as with all else at the club right now, it will be a steady progress which should become clearer when we get the right players in, which will hopefully be very soon...you also need to take into account the amount of changes being made in pre-season (complete team in one game at half time) and the mix of probably three different groups (1st team, U23's and even some younger players) and i don't think they have done too bad.
Nothing to do with our transfers but another example of why/how a transfer doesn't happen (I know it Nixon but.....). Loads of things must be discussed behind the scenes...
Totally agree, I was really encouraged by the way we're playing and how a real style is developing. Even better, the players seem to be enjoying it.
Was at Bourton last September, lovely place but packed... enjoyed Castle Coombe and Lacock too...I am very jealous mate...beautiful part of the world..Fingers crossed its your last move..
We bought a brand new house in June 1999 and did a lot of work to it (kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and garden) over the years and loved it. However, because of my wife's health, where she started to struggle with the stairs, we moved to a bungalow only a mile away, in June last year and has been worth every bit of stress that moving brings. My son, who has his own landscape business, finished our garden last month so we will not be going anywhere again.
