HDM are still on the clubs naughty step arent they? Mcann confirmed on Humberside midweek that we can now replace loans out with loans in. Whatever Baz is saying, turning flores' loan into a free transfer would have no impact on our ability to loan in, as he was already out on loan and could therefore be replaced by a loan.
How does it depend? Still makes no differece to our ability to replace him with a loan - within the 25 man limit. Only thing it changes is the ability to sign a free agent.
It does - quick check and we have 24 players registered. So, we can only sign a loan or a permanent. Not both as it currently stands. So Smith it is.
So then why convert Flores' loan to a permanent? That has no bearing on the number of players registered in our squad. We were at 24 before that decision was made.
Could SmIth be a permanent? By those numbers we could already loan in a player without Flores leaving on a free.
He was never going to come back to us and his contract was up next summer... Northampton has signed him on a permanent now so gets him of our books completely, Northampton have another loan spot freed up and the player has a longer permanent contract. It made sense all-round
I though U21's who have made a senior appearance all counted as theyre deemed to be of 'professional standing'. Or is there a caveat when it comes to inbound loans?
Agree it makes sense all round, but why do it the day before the season starts? You'd expect the priority would be getting players in as opposed to sorting a contract on a player who's effectively already left?
Between now and the end of the window it'll be all hands to the pump on ins and outs, Arthur has also headed out on loan today.
Well he has 6 caps for Wales so we'd have a hard time convincing the EFL he wasn't a senior player if that was the case. I just thought that younger players didn't count toward the limit as a lot of them played for us in the EFL trophy last season, so by that measure we've got way more than 24 players.
I don’t think he’s got the balls to come to the PL, it’s much easier at a team that wins the league every….hmmm
