In our situation I don't think we can afford to mess about with young 'loanees' from premier league clubs. It'll take them the rest of the season to get up to speed.
This...we need competitive battle hardened bodies in the door. Just need some more goals, that will be good enough to stay up!
I knew someone would throw in the exception to the rule. I thought of Wilson myself whilst typing. There aren't many who can hit the ground running though. It might be all we get anyway.
I think it has to be considered as an option, we're not going to spend millions on an established Championship striker, so options are limited.
Those two don't really support my point though do they. I think a more astute argument might be to sign players who can play in a 3 5 2 formation. Poor Wilks seems utterly lost.
I know a striker down at Southampton who used to do ok in a 3-5-2 at City.. Shame about his missus though.
We'll have to go abroad and with Tan that seems highly likely. A loan for a striker who can't get a game for a decent Turkish side would make sense (work permit issues aside).
That has definitely worked well for us in the past with Balogh, Diomande, Sagbo and Proschwitz proving to be astute signings from abroad.
