Maybe. Reason why I’m leaning toward it being Marriott is because he’s out of contract at Derby and hasn’t signed a new deal. Could be a similar situation to Burke joining Luton.
I think it's Gomes from Morecambe, we've just sent them an attacking midfielder on loan for the season and we've been after him for a quite a while. Marriott would also be a decent shout, but he is injury prone. Gomes from Morecambe would be a wise move...
Flores hasn't gone anywhere; I don't think McCann is that impressed with him, he didn't look like setting League One on fire, so my guess is he'll go out on loan somewhere and that's the last we'll see of him.
Living where I do, I’ve been talking to Pompey fans about Cannon. They really like him as a high energy all action midfielder, but not a flair player. Hasn’t played holding midfield role and tends to be the forward midfielder or more likely box to box. Cover for Doc seems the most likely role.
I think the idea is for moncur to play in the front three when honeyman is fit and to cover when he isnt
I never said Flores has gone anywhere but he will do by the end of the window. I reckon the attacking signing is Randell Williams, we stuck a few bids in last summer, Posh had a bid of £500k accepted and although he hasn't had the best year, on a free I wouldn't be surprised to see us take a punt
I said at the time we signed him I found it a strange signing, he didn't IMO improve the squad and he seemed to be creating interest in himself just because he was nominated for UEFA Goal of the season or something like that. I can't see him staying, as you say either moved on or loaned out.
I’d like the attacking signing to be Marriott. Knows his way around this division. Knows Grant - so he’d be a useful addition.
