Could well be, just depends if Ba is one for No or the future. If he’s played all 5 games for Le Havre he must be ready now. At least we’re acquiring subs we can bring on after 60 mins with these new lads offering fresh legs for Pritch and Evans in particular. No reason they can’t start games once they settle in a bit.
one thing is for certain, whether they are ready or not, these kids aren't coming over here to play in the PL2.
I’ve been wondering if they’ve been trying to shape Embleton as a deeper midfielder behind the scenes..He’s had a few runs out playing much deeper since pre season.
Just photoshop mate, with the head of our new number 8 (if there is to be one). I think him and Winchester will go with Matete and Dajaku going on loan. If Embo stays, it might be because we've received a big offer for Pritch, which we can't refuse. I hope not.
My ManUre mates think Diallo is better in a free role off the striker than stuck wide. Reckon his pace is frightening and a good finisher.,
yes from what I've seen I'd put him closer to the Pritchard role than a wing back for example if we were to stick to 3-5-2. He's obviously a very different player to Pritchard, but thats the "gap" he'd fill
I would agree with that. He looks to be one that plays as a second striker to me. Not an out and out number 9, but a very different option to Stewart and Simms. The bits and pieces I have seen, he is more like a Broadhead type - drop in pick it up and run at you.
I don't have enough evidence to back this up but I don't think we want to play with a number 10 long term. In my opinion our model of a front 6 is Liverpool. High intensity, high pressing and creative. The one central striker (Nunez/Stewart/Simms) with 2 wide forwards (Diaz/Clarke/Benette) and (Salah/Diallo/Roberts). Then a midfield 3 where 1 anchors (Fabinho/Evans), one is high energy (Hendo/Ba/Matete/O'Nein/Winchester) and one is a play maker from a bit deeper (Thiago/Pritchard/Embo/Neil/Michut). This is why I wouldn't be shocked to see Pritch or Embo move on as they're highly saleable without really fitting into the ultimate goal. Matete going out on loan or Winchester leaving also makes sense.
We should be playing with just Stewart up front now, whether thats 3 in the middle like Liverpool or 2 with Pritchard with as a 10. We have enough quality in midfield to control games rather than trying to play on the counter with Simms and Stewart.
Spend a lot of time in Glasgow been sounding out an old Rangers supporting mate who knows a bit about the game. Rangers tended to play him as a winger but my mate reckons he's very like Sterling in that he's difficult to bracket where his best position is. Incredibly talented, confident in his ability and full of tricks with blistering pace. However very naive and obvious he hasn't played a lot of (I hate the term) but Mens football. Very lightweight started sensationally but was sussed out and basically bullied. Coming in January Rangers didn't have time to allow him to develop and get used to the physicality so got increasingly less game time. He thinks he could be sensational for us but will need to get used to week in week out physicality.
The system we played under the Snake was working well most of the time, but it requires high energy. S and S up front, pressing high up,wing backs pushing on,midfield drifting out to double up,a holding player staying put with one of the back three coming in to support, but both getting forward when they can. The signings we're making,on the face of it,young, athletic, mobile seem to support this system. What I don't know is if it will be changed under the new coach. I hope not,it's exciting and attacking.
