Ryan Edwards { Previously Linked To Rovers } signs two year deal with The Seasiders, Oh Well. we may have enough defenders , we just need that sniffer now to play off of Clarke Harris up front.
That would be a shame and surely another Rovers ' Giveaway ' at that price. Someone at the club has got to grasp the nettle here and see what footballers today are actually being sold for, if they have to sell and with their current level of debt then at least pitch the price accordingly and see what transpires, they may find that they will be pleasantly surprised !
Some may say that £500k could be a good price. As a striker, what has he actually done, apart from the last 4/5 months of last season? He could be a half season wonder! He may be another Nichols or Payne next season! Not sure what contract length he has either. He may only have 12 months left. If so we could lose him for nothing this time next season. And if he has 12 months left and someone offers you £500k for a striker, who hasn't really done anything in his career apart from 4/5 months with us, personally, I would be tempted to take the money. But at the same time, I would like to get him tied to a longer contract and gamble on him to get better and better.
You are of course correct Captain with that response but it is just gauling sometimes when you think of the amount of players that we have had over the years and let go for seemingly low prices when the club always seems to be teetering on the brink of financial meltdown. I know our friends from the South Western suburbs are one league up and it is a massive 'up' but didn't they just sell someone or maybe even two someones for big ticket prices after having only turned in half a dozen appearances for them ? and if I am not mistaken wasn't one of the buyers The Posh ! { The Nicholls money coming in handy there no doubt }
It would be great if we could hang onto Clarke-Harris at least until January. Without someone like him in the ranks we'll be in for a relegation fight again.He pretty much saved our season.
Danny Leadbitter signed for Newport on a 2 year deal. Hope his injury problems clear up and he can play for them
Glad he has remained in the football league. I thought his injuries would make him drop out into non league. Maybe go to Yeovil or something.
Anyone notice Walsall's first game of the season? Walsall VS Northampton DC, Stewart, James Clarke and Sinclair VS Chris Lines
I suppose the leather aprons are going to be everyone's ' second team ' from now on in then ? I must admit I have never been that keen, bloody depressing place if you ask me, Fellows Park had a bit of footy character about it but their current home I find to be drab, just like their team.
Harrison confirmed as a chimer, three year deal, Pompey think that he brings all things league one to the club, let’s hope he’s on the table when we play them !
