Finally some proper football, feels more like 3 months than 3 weeks. Shame Ballard and Stewart aren't back we could do with them for this one. Not long now though.
Good to see the matchday thread back' and that team looks fine to me, would rather have shelved this game until after the transfer window tbh, but a home win will soon put that reservation to bed. OaU.
Might not be popular but can see Gooch coming back in ahead of Huggins. Patto Gooch Batth Alese Cirkin Evans Neil Clarke Pritchard Amad Simms Subs Bass Huggins O’Nien Ba Matete (or Stewart if ready) Embleton Roberts Think he won’t even name Stewart on bench just yet but I’d love it obviously if he did. crazy strength in depth now considering I’ve left Stewart, Ballard, Wright, Bennette, Michut and Hume out of that squad above.
Michut "hopefully back over festive period" is that the lad's 2nd or 3rd injury since joining? Bad luck, or is the kid a bit of a sicknote?
Cant wait to walk up those stairs and take my seat !! Feels like an age since I have been to the match, a bit like 1st game of the season. An early goal hopefully or it could be a tight game. RTB, cracking thread once again.
We need to keep the ball in play. Millwall has netted 15 times from set pieces, which is the league-high, Five of those goals coming from corners. Supposedly SAFC is yet to score from a set piece.
That was the 6 - nil, we also beat them 6 - 2, Don Goodman hat-trick. After the game Bruce Rioch made the Millwall players get straight on the coach, told them they wouldn't need a shower....true story.
He has come out of junior football, in a far less physical enviroment. He has bucket loads of technical ability. He needs to learn to ride the challenges and agression I suspect, in training then matchdays. He will be a player in a year or so in my opinion.
He gets a lot of tackles in, as in a remarkable number per minutes on the pitch, which makes me think that the physical part of the game is a natural part of his character. Mowbray seems to rate him highly and he's a pragmatic kind of guy.
Match day is here and the excitement is building. Got a feeling we may see a suprise or 2 in the team and subs. Just hope we start well and impose ourselves on them. Got to use our old season card seats today, as our new seats where sold so I get to listen to Mr Negative and Stat Man Dave
Difficult afternoon ahead we have to sort our home form out however I feel a draw is coming today. I'd love all 3 just can't see it. Please prove me wrong HWTL.
Really jealous of everyone who's going, I think Sunderland will be right up for this and well prepared. It's a poor KO time but I think that'll affect Millwall more than us. I'm going for a happy 1-0 with a good solid performance ... ... Batth from a corner, naturally! Ha’way the Lads!!!
