my favourite day in football bar none. And I’ve won cups and trophies in my playing days. And I’ve seen us thrash the mags, beat Chelsea 3-0. This was easily my favourite and proudest day as a Sunderland fan. Of both the club and the fanbase.
Grown into the team. Just seems to have improved so much this season. Maybe needed that first team experience. Got to be young player of the season
I'll try and watch it, but these ****ing you tube clips where someone films their face 90% of the time and starts it with "hey guys" make we want to eat my own face
Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, even better that I was in there somewhere singing my head off. When we sing it at the proper speed it gets louder and louder, wish we would sing the "take my hand" bit as well
A mate, with mobility issues, was helped by the club and paid to go into the posh seats. He was at Wembley early, free booze and bait, so rubbed up against people from SAFC. He says the feeling he got was that the Louis Dreyfuss family would become more involved. He wasn't talking to them directly although was within earshot and their party were all excited, talking about football etc. This bit is so random he's not sure if it was just lighthearted chatter. My mate lived in Paris so speaks decent French and reckons he heard them talking about the possibility of having a small yard on the Wear. I can't see it myself but perhaps, at worst, it means this could be a long term relationship and more of the family involved. They seem to love a good dynasty please log in to view this image
Many, many thanks @RTB, for your match day threads. even when I've become disillusioned, and despondent, with goings on and results at the stadium, you have always managed to bring the enthusiasm back. Don't know if you will manage to continue next season in the championship, I for one certainly hope you can. I must take a lot of effort and determination to get all your facts and get them into the thread. I have supported SAFC ever since I can remember, never had a second team, am 76 now, and live what seems to be a million miles away, but that is what makes your Match day threads all the more important to me. Thanks again, you seem to keep the flicker of hope alive.
As a fan who lives away from the North East I wholeheartedly endorse your comments, I too hope RTB hasn't any retirement plans in the near future.
Shut up you two, man, and others . . . . he'll want a bloody pay rise at this rate RTB, your match threads are shoyte
Sunderland fans have raised over £750 on a crowd funder for the staff at the Nags Head in Covent Garden to say thank you for their wonderful service last Saturday....
Interesting stuff. In my opinion you only have to watch the keeper's legs to know the ball is swerving.
This time last week I was bouncing off the walls waiting for my lift to my cousin's and Wembley the next day
