I couldn't sleep last night and ended up going through all my possessions that I've not checked on in years. It was great seeing some of the things I'd forgotten about. I found an old Sunderland shirt that has Kevin Phillips signature on and it still has the authenticity card that came with it. I've got a signed Sunderland ball, but I've no idea which season it's from and I struggle to make sense of autographs! I've got the 1973 cup final program and I have the old 3rd division season on the old video tape. Anybody else have stuff like this lying about?
I've got the 1973 semi and final programmes. The final is signed by Bobby Kerr. I found the semi-final programme on a market stall down here. I had an argument with the bloke on the stall because when I was paying for it I asked him what he thought the semi-final and final programmes together would be worth if one of them was signed and he said "not much. Might be different if it was one of the big clubs". Tosser.
I've bought 2 1973 replica FA shirts for my lads girlfriends to wear around the pool on at least 1 day this week! One was getting a bit cocky so both of them have to wear the shirt! I won't be posting photos! Sorry!
Feeling like I've missed an opportunity! Didn't get my own daughter one, and she's the reason why were over here.
Proudly on display on my dads wall is a photo of him with Bobby Kerr and the FA Cup (& Dickie Davies for those of us old enough to remember 'World of Sport'!! It was taken in a club in Harrow & Wealdstone on the night of the final... the time on the clock is something like 04:40 in the morning! I'll try to get a copy onto here.... it's a great photo
Got a shoe box full of programs, cards and shiz. I had two 35m reels of the FA Cup semi and final but I donated them to SAFC Museum as they need to be used as they perish over time. They haven't even used them, well pissed off about it.
It is, I mean there's no sound for it but I bet there's plenty of old fellas who'd like to watch via projector. Bunch of fellas in my street as a kid used to watch a lot of boxing by reel.
what happened to the museum with the SAFC memorabalia on bridge street I wanted to go and have a look but it must have closed for good. I have about 250 programmes some from the 1950's and 60's and 2 1973 finals, one mint my brother bought me a couple of weeks ago.
Ticket from the 1937 cup final and a signed programme from Scunthorpe reserves v Sunderland reserves from the seventies when Alan Foggin played for us must be worth a mint.
1973 final programme signed by the whole team, nearly ended up with a winners medal to go with it, but that's another story, still got my Sunderland shirt though that I wore on the day, but its shrunk a bit.
