From the information out there, Manchester City, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid weren't involved in the scheming. Apparently they were invited to join this jolly caper last week. Backed into a corner, having to decide whether to sail into the sunset or be left behind.
I remember about 35 years ago when the so-called 'big 5' announced plans for a breakaway league (the PL came a few years later), they invited 5 additional clubs to their party. NUFC were one, along with West Ham, Forest, Wednesday and Villa. The chairmen of these clubs hadn't been involved in scheming at all and said much the same thing when quizzed by the media: that they didn't really want change but would probably join if the alternative was being left behind. Similar with ManCity; they had to make an enormous decision in just a few days and came down on the wrong side. They're guilty of aiding amd abetting, while Real Madrid, ManU, Juventus and others are guilty of the crime.

 

Well here's the thing.

If you don't understand something it doesn't mean its not right.

Moving up from 3rd biggest club in Liverpool to the 2nd just behind Tranmere

 

The 'corrupt' 6 can not be allowed to continue in the PL and play in the ESL as they are effectivly in a closed multi billion pound money making scheme which the other clubs do not have access to and therefore creates a completely vastly unfair league. If they want to go alone and play meaningless friendlies every week then pi$$ off and let the other teams get on with it. After a few years when they come running back after it has all gone wrong tell them to jog on and go and play in MSL or start in the northern league....

 

I could be reading too much into this, but it sounds to like they've realised they can't do anything and are appealing to their better nature here.. If I'm right it'll fall on deaf ears

 

Imagine you tell your wife or girlfriend that you are leaving her for someone you've met online (but only seen photographs of) but you've been chatting for months and months. You leave the afore mentioned wife/girlfriend and head off for your new life with your online bird only to find that she is actually a 300lb hairy biker who is actually a bloke and has been whacking off at pictures of your wanger that you sent him for the past 6 months. You then try and go back to your wife/girlfriend......now imagine how that conversation would go !

Once Richard Masters stops laughing his pods off he might be in a position to start having a conversation but it would be a very ****ing short one if I was in his shoes. Sorry, you've breached your PL agreement and you're out. You'll have to try the EFL mate....jog on !!

 

Also just reading Everton's statement which is great, but reads more like a please don't do this than GTFO

 

One thing about the ESL announcement yesterday was that there were 12 clubs signed up with 3 more expected to be invited and 5 clubs qualifying each year on merit (or something like that) could the Saudi's be one of the 3 more to join, depending on which club they buy????? I would imagine that they would like to be represented in the competition.

 

As expected - the Government with cross party support, are reportedly submitting legislation to Parliament to enshrine into law measures to prevent this.

The result? There is not a damn thing the owners of the snakey six can do to challenge it. They are ****ed.

I personally think they where backed into a no win situation. Join us or else.

They will get praise for saying nope we made a big mistake. It will then lead pressure on the others leaving manu and Liverpool.

Then the fun starts.
