I’m still a bit confused and wary as to why the PL haven’t blinked yet. With all that’s going on and Staveley firmly nailing her flag to the “PL and fans come first” mast, it seems in everyone’s interests to just say “with new info we agree with the government’s position that PIF is separate from the state and will commence the O&D test with Yasser Al Rumayyan as lead influencer”. I can’t quite work out what’s so hard about that?
They DO have to say something, they have 3 days on one of the actions. Hence why I find it weird they haven't got rid of all this stuff. I understand that is what Mike wants, he wants to beat them down - but Mike's actually right. This staunch refusal to move isn't actually helping anyone do anything? Including themselves?
They lose face. If they were to suddenly u-turn everyone will be even more convinced that other powers tried to stop it.
Not sure I buy it, there's never been a better time to throw it into reverse. Everybody else is only bothered about the ESL fallout. With Staveley's soundbytes being so pro-fans, pro-PL, anti-ESL, she'd be a perfect spokesperson alongside the likes of Leicester's owners to extol the virtues of the game. What are NUFC fans going to do? Give them a takeover, the corruption will be forgotten within seconds.
I agree it’s almost the perfect timing to allow it with caveats to do the right thing. A perfectly worded word of intent to thrust the trust of the entities involved. And a kind word to the fans. It is bizarre how the PL want to dig their heels in. It does make you wonder why and what they have up their sleeve.
They don't want to accept it simple as that... They'll drag it out as long as is humanly and financially possible. They've possibly already won the arbitration
