No offence to those who like it but this is the race where I usually have a couple of pints The Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase is open to horses aged five years or older and is run on the Cross-Country Course over a distance of about 3 miles and 7 furlongs. During its running there are thirty-two obstacles of varying size and style to be cleared. It was originally run as a handicap race before being changed to a conditions race from the 2016 running. The event was established when a fourth day was added to the Cheltenham Festival in 2005, a day some would equate to Armageddon. Here is the list of previous winners courtesy of wiki and the snipping tool: 25 runners declared at the moment and the shortish-priced favourite at 5-2 is the Enda Bolger runner Jossies Orders but there won't be a dry eye in the house if Balthazar King can win it for Champion-elect Dickie Johnson and dear old Pip Hobbs. On official ratings Foxrock, Colin Tizzaaaaaaaaaaaard's Third Intention and Balthazar King are clear. Latest betting from Oddschecker Entries
Is old boy, Ted Walsh, really going to run Foxrock in this?!? Very talented horse and it will be fascinating to see how he gets on if switching to these X-Country obstacles. Doesn't have the greatest Festival record though does old Foxrock -90.
