This is an SP based betting competition in which you are free to bet as much as your daily allocation allows on however many horses you fancy provided they are running at this meeting. You have £1,000 to invest each day. NRs need to be replaced by an alternative selection or selections. Bets may be placed throughout the afternoon but must be posted at least 15 mins before the selected race. If less than the £1,000 daily allocation is staked any shortfall will be forfeited

Single bets only (win and ew or just place). Selections to clearly state the horse's name, race (if multiple entries), stake and type of bet. All bets settled at SP. Dead heats, full odds to full stake. No Rule 4.

All place bets settled at 1/4 SP odds as follows:
15 or more runners - place bets to 4th place
    8 -14 runners - place bets to 3rd place
5-7 runners - place bets to 2nd place
Less than 5 runners – win only

Stakes will be included in returns

    Please post entries below

Late entrants accepted but will forfeit the £1,000 allocation for any complete day missed

NB Please do not edit selections. Any changes to be made by replying to original post. Thanks and good luck all.

    Each-way terms simplified
    • 1-4 Runners – Win Only
    • 5-7 Runners – 1/4 of the odds for the first two places
    • 8+ Runners in a non-handicap – 1/5 of the odds for the first three places
    • 12-15 Runners in a handicap – 1/4 of the odds for the first three places
    • 16+ Runners in a handicap – 1/4 of the odds for the first four places

Or simplify it more by doing 8+ runners 1/4 price 3 place up to 16+ runners.

    Right

Happy to change the 6-7 runners to 5-7 runners - done that

Happy to change 15+ to 16+ although don't see the point as my rules are slightly more generous

There aren't many non handicaps with 15+ runners so don't see the point of treating handicaps and non handicaps differently

I think most people would be happy with getting 1/4 of the odds for a 20/1 4th in a 15 runner race whatever type of race it is

In summary Nass, I think I'll keep to my more generous and simple rules apart from the 2 places, which I have improved to 5-7 runners

    Thanks for the thoughts
    Ron

    Of course :)

Just to clarify (and a point I've raised before, sorry!) but "stakes returned" - - - as per the Saturday comp, where a NR gets you a £2 or £4 "return"? Therefore £1000 on a NR returns a grand? Just looking for a loophole to exploit!

And needless to say, thanks for running this <ok>
