Work is one for me too, I genuinely enjoy the job I do now and am pretty passionate about it which is good. Can never underestimate how much difference a job you like can make on your overall well-being. I think I'd be lost without the day to day routine too and I'd fall off a cliff. Other enjoyments are the outdoors and seeing new places. Even if it's a ****hole northern town like Burnley I find it rewarding seeing a new place. Dodgy old school boozers is up there too, whenever I do a weekend away somewhere I always Google the roughest pubs there and try and visit it.
The measure of how much you like your job (if you work Mon-Fri) is how much you enjoy your Sundays. If your Sundays are filled with anxiety for the next day, get out.
Yeah I spent years like that. Now I'm generally buzzing to get cracking again, unless I'm hanging anyway. I've been taking it too far lately and doing work at home but think that's partly cos there's less to do at the minute.
Good man. Been looking at a new investment through something a friend is working on. His motivation for working on this project is because he doesn’t like working for or with people so wants to be his own boss. He’s got no hope. I might just take his plan and get it to a stage where it’s saleable and make him flip it or ****off.
I enjoy working too, but there are sometimes I wake up on a Monday and CBA. Mainly due to **** knuckle 'client' pressures but I'm long past letting it get to me. Can't say work drives or defines me though. The idea of it being a career is laughable. As my kids and fam are an obvious given, alluded to by the op, the things that are most important are freedom and travel. Being allowed to go into France freely for winter or summer trips. As long as I can go over to France, not sure if I'm that arsed about anywhere else tbf. Spain is attractive. Have to play golf. Every week. Every day, given half a chance. ****ed if I give hoot whether some former posters think that makes me a **** who walks round in plus fours. (Stan) . It doesn't, cheers.
I think there comes a time when we all have to be comfortable in our own skin and who are other people to judge that?
There's a golf brand for complete bell ends, can't remember what it is a minute though. If you want go and play looking a right twat, it's out there. Plenty do.
He wasn't alone, there's a couple of sneery **** mates of his share the same opinion. Anyway, I dress normally, you'll all be pleased to hear. Golf is absolutely brilliant for mental health, as is all exercise. I'd recommend it to anyone to give a go.
I played a fair bit of Golf in my teens. Loved it. Gonna wait till I’m an old fella and take it up again.
