Aye Hull are certs for me with the games they have left.

We look so ****ing bad mate, yeah we won the derby but they are the only team in the league worse than us at the minute, and their start has saved them.

I worry about getting back mate, I really do, I just think this is almost Armageddon for us.

Aye we defo go down this season and we deserve to pal. I can see Newcastle letting Qpr and leicester to beat them so it can put us more in the brown stuff.

Plus I agree we will struggle to come straight back up to.

I stand by that, 3 additions. A CM, 2 CBs.

These are vital positions and leave us woefuly short, so what's your point?

As I said above, £35 million in the 3 would have seen us well out of this ****, there's no contradiction on my part, or are you seriously suggesting 3 players can't have a monumental impact on a poor side?

i'm not suggesting that at all. i was simply surprised you felt so negative about our predicament, given your much more positive sentiment last week. that is all.

I'm sure I did say last week we were 'still in deep ****' as well though mate, you can't just pick certain parts.

It's not the fact we lost yesterday, I half expected that as I said on a thread on Friday I think Palace are a better side than us, it's the manner of the capitulation, for that to have happened twice in 4 weeks I just can't see us having the bottle for the fight, we carried forward nothing, no lift from the derby win and that's a massive worry.

It's the very nature of being a football fan mate, you are constantly re-evaluating and changing your opinions, is it any surprise that I'm less positive after a 1-4 home defeat than after a win?

dude. it wasn't a criticism, but as one of the more balanced posters on here (you) i was a bit taken aback. obviously we're all entitled to let off steam, especially after the diabolical performance served up yesterday.

we change our minds on players, the team etc throughout the season - and j jnow i've been off the mark on several - but do you honestly think our predicament will be as bad if we drop down to fizzy pop time?

i have no idea what the contract situation is like if we do drop i.e immediate salary cuts triggered, youth may get a chance/step up, but maybe we are more structurally ****ed than i thought.

i think we probs need 5 players to be good, adung a rb and striker to the list, but one good cb to start would make a big difference

We lose £130 million mate, and we lost £8million if I recall correctly last year.

We'd be ****ed mate, massive time ****ed.

(No offence taken by the way, I was just pointing out that I never suggested we were safe last week!)

I thought the deal was worth ca 100 mill to each EPL club next season ( a 'loss' of about 80 net to those relegated who get parachutes). Clearly a lot of wonga, but 3 teams have to go down next year, and 3 more go up. If we don't have an automatic salary cut then yeah, we're ****ed.

Otherwise I'll always think we'll have enough to get back up, but this obscene amount of money maybe a long term game changer we can't make it back from. You don't need big crowds anymore.

Yeah I heard that too - although I'm not certain that the percentage figure is reliable I know for certain that Short would not allow a player to sign without a relegation wage cut clause. Quinny schooled him on that one and he learned from Newcastle's relegation as well!

As for the drop - I think it will be us, QPR and Hull - the SAFC that played the mags would stay up - the SAFC that played Villa and Palace will get relegated. I'll still be there next season though

This was on page 3 so thought I'd bump it.. May as well post an update at the same time...

    ASTON VILLA - 32 POINTS
Man City (Away) - April 25
    Everton (Home) - May 2
West Ham (Home) - May 9
    Southampton (Away) - May 16
    Burnley (Home) - May 24

    SUNDERLAND - 29 POINTS
    Stoke (Away) - April 25
    Southampton (Home) - May 2
    Everton (Away) - May 9
    Leicester (Home) - May 16
    Arsenal (Away) - May 20
    Chelsea (Away) - May 24

    HULL - 28 POINTS
Crystal Palace (Away) - April 25
    Arsenal (Home) - May 2
    Burnley (Home) - May 9
    Tottenham (Away) - May 16
Man United (Home) - May 24

    LEICESTER - 28 POINTS
    Burnley (Away) - April 25
    Chelsea (Home) - April 29
    Newcastle (Home) - May 2
    Southampton (Home) - May 9
    Sunderland (Away) - May 16
    QPR (Home) - May 24

    QPR - 26 POINTS
West Ham (Home) - April 25
    Liverpool (Away) - May 2
Man City (Away) - May 9
    Newcastle (Home) - May 16
    Leicester (Away) - May 24

    BURNLEY - 26 POINTS
    Leicester (Home) - April 25
West Ham (Away) - May 2
    Hull (Away) - May 9
    Stoke (Home) - May 16
Aston Villa (Away) - May 24

Worrying. QPR and Hull are ****ed imo, but Villa are picking up form at just the right time and have a nice cushion to the relegation zone to boot. Barring a major cock-up, they should be safe. Leicester are going great guns at the moment and have 3 relegation rivals to play AND Newcastle - can't see them not getting out of it

Which leave us and Burnley fighting for the last spot. Watching how they scrap, and seeing how we don't, and given the fixtures of the two of us.... I'm praying for another miracle.

    VILLA 36
    QPR 32

This is with us drawing 3, no wins. Pretty much worst case scenario, we'd go down on goal diff. Can't help thinking we'll need to beat Leicester and get at least another two points, if not 3.

If Leica and villa are safe by then I can see them losing to QPR and Burnley on last day. Have to hope they both start to lose again and quickly!

    Thanks Terry

You have you drawing with Leicester then you have Leicester losing against you further down.

No way is 32 points gonna be enough to stay up I'd be very surprised if that's the case.

Changed, ta. Would make leics likely to lose to QPR last day.

We need 35 I think and I think we're unlikely to get that

    <ok> Cheers.

That was the idea, a permanent point of reference ........ at least Burnley & Leicester are guaranteed to drop points between them today.

Hull have their problems so they'll hopefully pick up a few more 'Brucey injuries' & red cards.

"Hull City's Curtis Davies, Nikica Jelavic and Andrew Robertson remain out, while Mohamed Diame is not expected to feature.

Midfielder David Meyler sits this game out as he is still suspended, but forward Gaston Ramirez could return from a hamstring problem."

It's gonna be ****ing tight we need 6 points imo that should put us ahead of Newcastle as they won't get another point. Hopefully Hull lose there next couple Liverpool and Arsenal at home.

I always thought all those draws at the start of the season would bite us in the arse.

Another thing worth mentioning is our goal difference is ****ed and unless we reverse Southampton literally next week we won't make it up.

Last comment is tongue in cheek by the way.

Honestly think if you get done at Leicester next week your ****ed and completely relying on other teams not overtaking you.

Hope to god you turn them over like but who knows.
