Good Morning Everyone and May the 4th be with you!!!! Andrea Radrizzani has almost 100% complete control over Leeds Utd having bought the majority of Cellino's shares in the last 48 hours. Furthermore, Rad is due to sit down with Monk prior to the Wigan game to discus his future. Somebody pinch me!!!! The Wallies kick off their play offs tonight against Scunny with a fully fit team after many of them went down with a bug following their trip to Bristol Rovers last week. I'm not at liberty to discuss how they picked up these bugs, suffice to say the hostel that they stayed at is still being treated by rentokil. Do we want the Wallies to win? How many of us want them to get to the final, only to have their hearts broken at the last....
Morning all... So refreshing to hear there is early activity going on behind the scenes at ER When I first joined this forum, I never understood the resident Millwall lads, after a while I realised it was all good fun. In all seriousness I hope they do it, yes it would be fun to wind them up should they lose but deep down losing hurts and they are a decent bunch really
Morning all. Back in Eire. So far, the sounds re Rad are looking promising, maybe even very promising but trying not to get my hopes up. Im hoping to see the Wallies win the playoffs for some bizarre reason. Just thinking how tricky the transfer market is anyway. Even with money, do you a buy pl rejects as quality wont join from that league b sign promising players from lower leagues or c promote our youngsters. Our Swansea signings showed how hit or miss a is. Bartley superb but probably wont get to buy him, Grimes and Barrow total disasters. b Rooffe looks a good investment but in fairness didnt set world alight. c has been a good source for us but Monk believes we missed out on promotion because of lack of experience in the side. The young lads all feck off if theyre good enough as soon as they get any experience a la Cook, Byram and Taylor soon. Dont know what the solution is but the overall package needs to be created financially and otherwise so we somehow get to keep the younger lads
Wallies get to final & score a late goal with fans smashing up Wembley. FA/FL decide to relegate them 2 divisions because of their fans. ... Tears from many on here. I believe Monk has a list he wants Rad to agree to before signing. BUT he's either convinced he and his team will get another job straight away or convinced Rad will give him it. I really hope this is a formality as choosing between Leeds and lets say Norwich is not even a choice. If he signs we will know the bandwagon rolls on with Pontus and Co signing/staying plus new additions coming in.
Morning Eire, hope you had a good break. Generally you'll find that Premier league rejects are not as good as normal Championship players, most of which also need to step off their pedestal.
Morning Doc, the smashing up of Wembley is a given, however the FA would probably opt to punish Leeds instead....
Eire Monk wants to rebuild the academy but we cannot keep on selling them on, they need real development and nurturing for the future. team who build for promotion dont have sides full of talented kids, they have 1 or 2 but majority are seasoned battling pros with talent. Players who can win games individually or as great team players. Creativity in midfield and flanks. Those qualities we were lacking and so got to where we deserved to be
Regarding academy players.... I heard on Talk Sport that Chelsea have 38 players out on loan this season. It is diabolical and it is no wonder teams outside the top flight struggle to find the next big name. Football needs a shakeup otherwise the PL will become even more of a two tier system than it has already become
Ristac I believe Chelsea have 57 players out on loan with 38 being academy players mainly foreign born
Shako knows you guys are twisting my words to make it look like I was talking about the hobbit.and not the marching ex RAF guy.
