Rads admitted he knows nothing about running a football club. If he looked around the majority of teams that are successful (in the UK) he would have seen Manager's work better than a coach and director of football, I just wonder why he took the approach to sign a director first. I have a strong feeling he has had quite a few knock backs over the last three weeks with managers saying no to working under a director. Maybe we will buy our ground back in the next few weeks, that would be a nice distraction as the players are not coming thick and fast
You're right but can't see why it should be a big problem. What's the difference between a manager choosing the players and getting the 1st team coach taking the training drills and the dof buying the players and have the head coach do the same??
In theory there should not be a difference, it is no different to sacking a manager into a season when the transfer window is shut and saying to a new guy, this is what you have to work with. But.... When it comes to persuading the likes of Monk, Pearson, McCarthy and others they just point blank refuse to operate this way. Finding a coach willing to work under a DO in either the PL or Championship is near impossible.
I think John Terry would be excellent in the Championship but I would hate to see him in a Leeds shirt, can't stand the guy.
