Well done Sussex! Nice to see them record a victory against Yorkshire! Can Glamorgan do the same against Middlesex?
Disastrous batting performance this afternoon. Such a shame as we bowled well. Looks like a very tough season ahead.
This Hampshire game, why are the top orders failing so badly? Notts 50-6 & 44-4 Hants 77-5 & 44-5 and all innings so far over 200 That’s remarkable
As @shoot_spiderman said, this was a crazy match. The upper order failed in all 4 innings, yet the lower orders scored well. I don't remember a game like it!
Fletcha Middleton the only openning bat to get past 20. Suggests it was a match winning knock on a pitch that was receptive to the new ball but flattened out subsequently.
Solid win for us. And Mason currently showing the value of a leg-spinner of day four (albeit in D2). Had a decent time with the bat yesterday too.
Now Holland is the latest to leave on loan, to join Currie at Leics for the rest of the season. Will there be anyone left soon, especially for the 50 over comp? I'd love Neser to stick around for that, we need another seam bowler, but I expect there's some pointless franchise league somewhere around the world that he'll be playing in instead I know Holland isn't a first choice batter or bowler, but he's a very useful squad player to have I think.
If we do benefit from an overseas player hanging around for the 50 over comp, it's more likely to be Baartman than Neser. He will have replaced Neser three or four weeks earlier, and will feature for us in the Blast KO stages in September. So staying in the UK over August, if we make the Blast KO stages, would make some sense for Baartman.
Well, we've got their top four out, before lunch. Surrey are 89-4, and the four batsmen out are listed as their first four in the batting line up
