Almost a repeat of last night. 200 is chaseable, but you need your first three overs to go the distance. Kent, like us, have always been way behind - and that just leads to stupid shots and easy wickets. Think this will be Kent's third defeat in their last three or our games. Which is the sort of form I had them down for (I really thought they'd challenge Glamorgan for bottom spot). Our two last-over defeats to them are looking particularly painful now, with our top four chances in danger of disappearing over the next week.
Middlesex-Gloucs at the moment. So whatever happens in that one we'll be moving further away from 4th.
I didn't predict Super Sussex being where they are right now and equally so Hampshire. What has happened to the 20 over game, at the Rose bowl?
This is very much the make-or-break week, going into the (very short) t20 break when we return to four day action. Beat Gloucs and Surrey and we're right in the mix - with qualification in our own hands (just). Lose to them both and we're finished. Win one and lose one and we'll need a small miracle (probably four wins from wins, with results going our way elsewhere). Bristol is something of a fortress for Gloucs. But if you're going to qualify, you need to be beating the likes of Gloucs and Surrey - especially when we're handicapped in only playing them both once. Howell being injured is a big plus.
