Also, anyone who's still interested in the Lille match, Sow got a hatrick and Cabaye has just been given a standing ovation off the pitch, commentators saying it's a goodbye.

Whether he's coming to us or going else where he's deffo going somewhere...

I said yesterday that if the Cabaye transfer comes of this lad cwarr must have inside info. Its alright guessing on some of the names mentioned in the papers but he said on Friday, before any newspaper stories, that Cabaye was signing. I'd never heard of him nor his name linked with Newcastle before.

In fact what the Sunday Sun printed yesterday was really only on the back of cwarr's comments on Twitter on Friday. Their main sports writer had said they would sign someone the week before but didn't have a clue who the name was and he was conversing with cwarr on Twitter, that's where he gort the name from for Sunday's article.

I'm sure cwarr also said Larsson wasn't coming on Friday too I think. But he's adamant Zog's coming back.

If the Gervinho transfer comes off its nailed on he's in the know.

Did he predict the Cabaye thing? I can't remember.

If annoying, at least he gives a sense of blind optimism. A lot of his tweets are positive.

Yes, he actually said it was all agreed and I think he said he'd passed a medical. If it had been someone who had been mentioned in the papers I would have thought he might be a chancer, but I've seen nowt about Cabaye until this bloke said he'd signed. Then I read he's come up with things in the past, some true some not.

But I knew a bloke who scouted for a PL side, a full time employee not some part time charley, and he would give me good one's but some ****e too.

Just seems to me like this lad is in the know.

Possibly. He got Ben Arfa and Tiote right. And the Carrol saga. Just said we were going to get Pav after to replace him on the last day but didn't, obviously.

If Gervinho comes then maybe I'll have more faith in him!
Maybe he has SOME contacts, but only small ones.

I bet he's a totally annoying little nobody for them to have around too.

    "Hi buddy, its me"
    - "Sigh.. oh right.. good"
"So any transfer news?? My internet fans are asking."
    - "Not since 5 minutes ago when you last called."

Aye he got the Cabaye thing right, but I'm pretty sure Larrson was all signed up, N'Zogbia was going to be completed by Monday and we've got Menez coming in for £5m (as well as Gervinho...

Midfielder Yohan Cabaye has announced he is joining Newcastle United, according to current club Lille.

The France international, 25, is expected to cost about £4.3m from the newly crowned French champions.

"Yohan told us on Sunday - first me, then the whole group - that he has chosen to join Newcastle," said Lille coach Rudi Garcia.

Cabaye, a holding midfielder, formed a key part of Garcia's Ligue 1 and French Cup double-winning squad this season.

Having spent his professional career to date with Lille, he is now on the fringes of the France team with two caps to his name.

The £4.3m fee is reported to be the cost of activating the release clause in his contract, which was due to run until 2013.

"It is a choice that I respect, although I wish he continued the adventure with us," said Garcia, who added that Ivorian striker Gervinho would not join his Lille team-mate in moving to Tyneside, despite recent speculation.

"The only one who can leave is Yohan Cabaye," said Garcia.

"All others are under contract and, if desired, will be in the squad next season."

Cabaye's two appearances for France have both come from the bench, having been handed a debut in last August's friendly against Norway, a game for which coach Laurent Blanc had suspended his woeful World Cup stars.

Alongside those two senior caps, Cabaye has a strong record at youth international level and is a former captain of the French Under-21 side.

This isn't from Cwarr but I think it is worth posting:

    GeorgeSmith05 George Smith
Wijnaldum is also a #nufc target, Carr has been tracking him for well over a year, could well be signed then loaned back to Ajax for aseason
