International friendlies in the run-up to a major tournament are about as significant as pre-season friendlies against third-tier Swiss teams.
Clattenburg clearly had Pepe's number and it was clear that he knew what he was up too. He took the attitude to laugh at him and though you don't want to see players sent off. He had a real opportunity to book him for unsporting behaviour and go some way to cutting out these antics from our game.
Are the Czech Republic in the tournament? These guys have a useful record in the finals and while they have no superstars or players of the stature of Aduriz, they should not be taken too lightly. Can't say I am all that excited until the knock out stages commence.
http://www.ukfootballoutlet.com/england-2016-kane-home-football-shirt-p-3911.html England shirt for £23.
This brings to mind the (West) Germany vs Austria match in the 1982 world cup (Thankyou Wikipedia), when the two teams played out a 1-0 win to West Germany, which is exactly what they both wanted, and both teams progressed to the knockout stages, at the expense of Algeria. From then on, the final group matches of all competitions have been played at the same time, to avoid giving teams any advantage of knowing what result would suit both of the teams playing. I'm not suggesting for an instant that Wales and England would collude to fix a result, but you can be sure that any team which failed to qualify at our (or Wales') expense will use the England v Wales result, especially if it is a draw, as an excuse.
Understand the point but it' s the 2nd game n not 3rd and if we both win our openers n it's 1-1 with 10 to go I could see both teams settling for that as 4 points will almost certainly be enough to qualify. All hypothetical though of course. Another example is Sweden & Denmark drawing 2-2 to send Italy out in 2004 (i think??)
You're right, in that there should still be a game in which other teams can win/draw, and qualify through their own endeavours. But to the rest of Europe, any result that could be interpreted as 'match fixing' between two bordering countries (who very rarely fight, nowadays) will be a further reason to complain about 'Britain' having more than one representative at a football competition, ostensibly between separate countries. Still, we'll be able to vote ourselves out of Europe on June 23rd, in a fit of pique at not having won all of our group matches (Oops, dragging politics into a football debate, sorry)
Whereas in Wales the big fuss is that no women's football shirt has been produced, just t-shirts with various sayings/words.
Sainsbury have been selling the old admiral top from the 80's for about £12. I quite liked that England shirt. The current shirt wouldn't even look good on Jessica Ennis. In fact I would have to insist she took it off.
He is injured and could be out for months. The bigger shock is they have hardly any wingers now with the others they aren't taking.
