Looks like LVG is on his way out, but strange timing. He was probably going during the summer, but why not let him enjoy his moment of triumph with the FA Cup? Koeman must be smiling this morning...Les, go get him whilst he's in a good mood.
It should also be noted that the game was completely winnable yesterday for Pardew and he threw it away. The FA Cup run has kept him in his job but it's the 2 wins in 19(ish) that will carry on into next season unless he changes something (which he won't). No good reason to think they will stay up next year.
I don't really see how he threw it away. Man Utd nearly threw it away by not playing Lingard from the start. He's been one of their best players recently. I'm not a Rooney fan but I like him in midfield. Works his socks off.
I bet this has only been brought in to accommodate the big teams in European Football, in which case I'm happy with that. So long as we have a cup run, on 3 fronts.
That's only one more round they've taken out at the moment then. Will be a sad day when they're gone altogether
Cup replays in any round have often been the better match because both teams generally go for it. The 1970 FA Cup Final 2-1 Replay was a fantastic match. The original 2-2 game was pretty crappy on a surprisingly boggy Wembley pitch.
They had the Horse of the Year Show on that Wembley pitch the week before the CF, hence it's Somme like condition.
Really.? In the whole of Wembley.? I thought the HOTYS was held at the Wembley Empire Pool. Sure it wasn't a Rugby League Final or something else.?
No they had the HOTYS in the stadium a few times, until they worked out that horses running and jumping on the hallowed turf was perhaps not the best idea. Mind you, the Scottish fans also did quite a job on the pitch one year after their team beat England in the Home Internationals.
And yet I can't find a shred of evidence that it was held at Wembley Stadium ever. It was held at Wembley Empire Pool [formerly a Olympic standard swimming arena, hence the name] from 1959 to 2002. And I used to watch the HOYS as a kid. Never knew it to be out in the open. Always held indoors in the autumn. Show me the money. please log in to view this image Wembley Arena [formerly Empire Pool] Sure it wasn't some other animal show.? I know the Daily Fail reckons the HOYS was held at Wembley Stadium, but I never believe a word they write anyway.
Not the Horse of the Year a Show, but the Royal International Horse Show. That was held at Wembley Stadium several times. Here's Wiki: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_International_Horse_Show I knew I could remember it!
OH..! I see where we got our lines crossed. I thought I was going a bit bonkers there for a moment. I just think Hickstead for that one. Never knew it was held at Wembley, but I can see why that one would need an open arena.
Oh my goodness. I spend a day away from the forum and it's all horses, Scousers and gobbledygook!! WTF is going on?
