Where do people think boards like this will go next?

Due to lockdown, there have been some advances with things like Zoom and TEAMS etc, and I know ToM sets up pre-match Zoom chats, but does anyone see that being rolled out wider, to something like this format, but with sound only, no cameras? Perhaps not as a replacement, but as a supplementary option.

I can see problems doing it, but I think lock-down has highlighted that there are some people that suffer from a lack of social interaction, so maybe a verbal forum would be of benefit to them?

Teams etc are a night mare
Some **** always puts his, or her, microphone on when the boss starts talking. Screeches like mad so he can’t be heard. Then disappears for a dump when he should be speaking.
    Probably

It'd be harder for some to be taken seriously though, cos I reckon they'd sound like Joe Pasquale when they get angry. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I can imagine the arguments getting out of hand like they do and suddenly there's two big bangs and Charlton Heston's voice saying "Shut the **** up" <laugh>

I like the anonymity on here though

I'd have to get a voice changer and a mask so no one can tell I'm really Sinitta...

I totally agree. I’ve had enough of Zoom, Teams etc and am very willing never to use them again.

People have had to endure these things during lockdown, there's going to be no desire to use them through choice.

It doesn't have to be either/or though. I'm not even meaning for it to be video. I'm more thinking about people that are perhaps a bit isolated and/or prefer vocalising over typing, a bit like a conference call.

Personally, I prefer Zoom to treking up and down the Country for a short, often fairly pointless meeting that can be resolved with a half hour group chat. It also opens up wider options for international conversations.

The 2nd part of your post in particular makes perfect sense and is fairly true to life.My eldest Daughter, prior to lockdown, spent countless days trekking up and down to England for meetings which,in her view, were fairly pointless. With the restrictions we then had to face she had to use zoom etc and she now sees this as the way forward.

When you consider the expense, time away from home and more importantly the benefit to the environment(unnecessary burning of fuel and the pollution attached to it),it makes perfect sense to move away from unnecessary travel?

I find the best way of dealing with fairly pointless meetings, is by not having any fairly pointless meetings.

Zoom, Teams, whatever almost every time for business needs, it's a no-brainer. But not for social stuff, can't beat a face to face barney.:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Some people don't have an option if they're sent to a meeting by their employer.
