The Gary Neville appreciation thread

I tell you what he went up in my estimation today. He reacted and spoke like a fan when asked about the Greed Proposal.

He also managed to slag off

1. Man U by stating they had acted like a small Club for the last 8 to 10 years and weren’t even in the Champions League this year.

2. Liverpool by sarcastically reminding the Owners that they claimed to be the People’s Club and referenced YNWA.

3. Arsenal by pointing out they were a small Club not in the Champions League this year and wouldn’t be next year.

4. Chelsea and Man City by simply calling them “New Money”.

5. Spurs by saying he wasn’t even bothered about them.

Qudos to him and hopefully Sky and BT will take note. No tv money, no sponsors, no Greed League.

 

Aye top quality like, he didn’t hold back which was very refreshing to hear.

 

Top bloke for calling them out like that. The cartel are scum.

 

I honestly think a PL without those vile scum will eventually be better and more competitive where a different team could In theory win it each year.

They could promote 4-6 out of the non league upwards and so on and so forth.

 

That would be absolute heaven. Scrap the ****ing bullshit "Champions" League and go back to a European Cup PURELY for winners, a UEFA Cup for the next 2 or 3 and a competitive league where decent teams get a shot every, single year.

Not gonna happen, like.

Have the broadcasters got anything to do with this btw? Presumably someone has got to air it generate the kind of revenue they are planning to give each club every year.

This feels like a real tipping point. If these clubs join this ESL, they need to be frozen out of all their domestic organisations. They can globetrot for gold, but never return. They'll do well financially, for sure, but will be utterly soulless vehicles.

 

Just listened to GN again and absolutely love the way he dismisses Spuds. Absolute classic.

 

And his pop at Arsenal who had just drawn with Fulham...mans got a point like! One of the best off the cuff live things I've seen like. Totally from the heart, totally unedited and totally bang on the money! Respect!!

You know what. The sight of their six club crests makes me ****ing sick. Vile pack of ****s.

 

Actually had to resist the urge to stand up and applaud.

 

He speaks from the heart but he uses his brain.

He was always one of the better analysts but he should be one of the focal points in the campaign against the Greedy Six.
