You do realise you were writing to yourself? Yeah, I know. It's the only way you're guaranteed an intelligent conversation.
Just found out my uncle has left me a stately home in his will. I have no idea where Sod Hall is, I'm just off to Google it now!
The police just knocked at my house to tell me my dog was chasing a kid on a bike. I just closed the door because my dog doesn’t even have a bike.
Woman: Does Viagra work? Pharmacist: Yes Woman: Can you get it over the counter? Pharmacist: Yes if I take two
My 3 year old grand daughter is coming up to Aberdeen from Southampton on Saturday for a few days. I can`t wait to see her again. Long story, but my son is now named on her birth certificate as her father, and she has now taken our very Scottish surname. I`m so proud of her I could burst !
Yes, this can seem to be a problem especially if one edits a video to make it look bad. One of the issues is that it is a Tesla. If it was any other car it wouldn't get any attention. In most other cars you fall asleep and you are dead or badly injured after the inevitable accident. But you can do the same in a Nissan Leaf, a Chevy Bolt, a Jaguar iPace, Audi Etron, Mercedes EQC, Hyundai Kona, Kia Niro, to name a few. Several of these have ways of disengaging their driver assists. Several of them just give up on the driver and plough into the nearest object. Teslas [and the Hyundai and Kia, for example] will try to wake the driver several times, and if they get no response they will slow to a halt. Here's someone doing the test with no dramatic editing:
Thought the odd person might find this interesting. Tesla has a scheme whereby owners can volunteer to test early roll-outs of OTA updates [so do some other carmakers]. The latest one, V.10 is quite a biggie and involves several step-ups in the competency of the driver assist technology. So one of the early owner testers decided to make a video of the latest OTA update. It involved doing a 40 minute run without driver intervention. All along the car got upto speed, changed lanes, weaved in and out of traffic, and then took the off-ramp from the freeway. I've only super-skipped through it myself, but it looked interesting. The early part of the video explains some of the updates. The driving starts at 1:25. Take a look:
And while the above seems to be about driving sophisticated electric cars, it is really about making a change to eliminating fossil fuels. So to continue the most important subject you will glance at today... And there will be a Climate Change strike tomorrow, starting from midday. Find your meeting place.
Qatar continues to treat construction and associated workers badly, while building the 2022 World Cup stadia. Now, here is your chance to make all our high sounding opinions mean something - When it comes round, boycott it. Don't watch it, don't listen to it, don't read about it. Email your MP or a Sports Minister, about your objections to it. We can't just say all the right things and then do nothing. That is playing into the hands of everything you object to or stand against. Let's get the rest of Not606 to boycott it. Or stand alone here and do it. Boycotting takes no effort. You can just stop doing something - that is tuning into the Qatar World Cup in 2022. Are you not a person of principle? Even when it's this easy? : https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49747688
Obviously got too much time on my hands today so I'm posting news items that interest me. Daimler [Mercedes to most people] have announced that they will no longer be developing any more new internal combustion engines: https://electrek.co/2019/09/19/daim...ines-to-focus-on-electric-cars/#disqus_thread The company that pretty much invented the modern ICE is giving up on it because they recognise the pace of change coming from the electric motor can't be held back any longer. What was the right form of transportation 100 years ago is now taking its rightful place again. The FF industry has made their ultra trillions of dollars, but now it's time for them to step back and save face while they can.
I was so appalled with Russia, that I said I wouldn't watch any of the games. And I was doing really well until the first game came round. Think I'll do the same for Qatar.
Then I think you need to try and find an absorbing hobby during that three weeks in 2022 or go on holiday. Or don't switch on the TV, Radio or Net during that time. It would possibly do you good anyway to get away from the everyday crap.
A man wakes up in Hospital and the Doctor says I'm very sorry but we had to cut off your penis but don't worry we can now make a new one but it is very expensive. The man asks how expensive? The Doctor say a thousand pounds per inch. Now said the Doctor you have nine thousand pounds insurance money due but before you decide what size penis you want you might want to talk to your wife there is no point getting a five inch if she wants nine. A little while later the Doctor asks did you speak to your wife? The man replied yes and she has decided we are getting a new kitchen.
It has been announced by Amazon that the company has ordered 100,000 delivery trucks from start-up electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian. For those who don't know who Rivian are, a quick potted history. Rivian has been around for almost a decade, but unlike Tesla before them, who blazed the trail, it was only around 18 months ago that they announced their presence in the form of two products. The Rivian [Range Rover type] SUV and the Pickup Truck, so beloved in the USA. Both with a guaranteed range of 400 miles per charge and real Tesla-esque performance, for example 3 seconds 0-60mph and over 120mph top speed. By and by, one or two big companies started to invest in Rivian, namely Amazon and then Ford. Ford are now boasting they have an all-new electric T150 truck in the pipeline [BS, it's a Rivian with Ford clothes on] and Amazon have produced all these orders for a product which, upto now, didn't even exist. So, not only are Amazon closing down High Street shopping, but they'll also eventually put all the private delivery drivers out of business too. It's a good thing [environment], but a questionable thing too. https://www.teslarati.com/jeff-bezos-100k-rivian-van-amazon-order/ EDIT: Totally forgot to add that Amazon is going to align itself with the Paris Climate Agreement. I bet that doesn't go down well with Trump, who withdrew the USA from the agreement, and has said in a speech that HICC is a "Chinese Hoax." [no, I am not kidding, and he wasn't joking].
