I'm a bit late to this thread but sorry 9's I think I am in love with your wife even though I have never met here. You might want to point her in the direction of this epic thread on LFW https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footb...the-frankie-friday-music-thread.....rip/#4613 Oh and the album version of Papa Was a Rollin Stone takes some beating as an intro.
Seen Orbital live many times and that tune always gets the place jumping. Though my fave is ‘Halcyon’ (live’), when they sample Bon Jovi and Belinda Carlisle......still gives me goosebumps remembering when I first heard them play that.
Good one CCJ. The first song is absent in the link, I take it that it was Your Love by Frankie Knuckles?
I've seen them four times - Spike Island back in 1990 in their heyday, which was superb, T in the Park 2012 torrential downpour and mud that Glastonbury would be proud of, Glasgow Green in 2013, brilliant if it wasn't for all the NEDs trying to fight everyone, and finally last year at Hampden...oh dear, Ian Browns voice was dreadful thankfully the crowd knew all the words and covered over his vocals. They announced they were splitting up (again) just before they walked off stage so I'm glad I took my son with me that day.
Yes mate, I didn't intend to link it but that was the song. There was a link to a great thread on LFW for any dance music afficionados (not many reading through this thread though!)
So many to choose from but this was the first one that popped into my head when I read this thread title, although not a huge fan of the band: Tears for Fears - Head Over Heels
Some great tunes on here re intros Here’s a curved ball on a genre that works on the intro in fact in some cases is a collection of intros throughout Layered Music Imo although pioneered by PF, TD Mike Ofield it’s not hard nowadays to pick a track that pisses all over some of the great tracks we have come up with I picked the SP pretty vacant because of what it meant at the time .. a radical change Today it’s flooded with great intros in trance music Example
Yes mate, I was there - got a bus from Kings Cross up there with loads of other Roses fans, was there early so saw the whole gig, from opening acts right through to the main event....still have the ticket somewhere, my son looks at it in awe it was a great day, weather was good if I remember, bit windy, loads of lovely ladies around (I would've been about 19, so right up for it!) - a pity that there's no decent footage of it anywhere....
Someone release a compilation album of all the tracks on this thread, that'd sort my daily commute out nicely.
In the factory where i was working today they have the local radio station playing and it's usually crap, but this afternoon this gem was aired and the intro is up there with the best of them........
