Apparently it's 25m for breach of contract and 3m to do with image rights. No idea how they'd justify those figures though.

Stories buzzing around that West Ham were going to pay Darren Fletcher 70-75K a week.
The move has fallen through because they apparently wanted a loan. Therefore I assume the dispute is not over the amount but more that they only wanted to pay him that for 6 months rather than longer

It is still crazy. How can they afford this (under FFP or any kind of measure). I am pretty sure Carroll is on around £100k and they no doubt have other very highly paid players. They potentially have half a dozen or more who earn more than our highest earner (excluding our two exiles out on loan)

I don't understand how this can work. Their stadium is similar size so where is the income coming from

Does anyone have any idea how much higher their overall wage bill is than ours (approximately)

One of the things that is never mentioned by the media is how they didn't really lose any major players over the summer and added about 5 or 6 very good players to their squad.
On paper they should really be above us (as should other teams of course). Another example of how well Koeman is doing (and perhaps showing that the praise for Sam is potentially a bit generous)

Why shouldn't they afford it? They have probably stretched their wage budget to the limits, but those limits are high, because every EPL club has huge revenues which justify it.

Even we could probably afford those salaries, I think we're not even close to breaching FFP regulations.

Yeah, given our player sales in the summer and low wage budget, we're probably as far away as any club from the FFP limits save the newly-promoted clubs and perhaps Swansea.

He's a bit of a Tevez slash Di Maria combo, and slightly bat like.

According to some of the Dutch press €4-5m will do it. Tbh €2.5m is bit of a piss take.
