The Leeds United Badge

I ran a short poll on twitter yesterday about changing the club's badge ... result was:

Keep the current Ridsdale badge...32%
Change to the Smiley badge...68%
Votes cast...105

I have never liked the badge Ridsdale brought in ... his reasoning was that the Leeds badge needed to be "more corporate" and that the then White Rose badge simply wasn't good enough ... we've had more than enough rotten luck since the current badge was introduced, time for a change I reckon

do you feel our badge should change, and what do you think our badge should look like?

PS ... Radz was included in the twitter post, so he would have seen the result

A little strange to find it in your avatar then ? I don't like badge changes, it's akin to changing the colour of the club strip in my view. I liked the smiley badge, but loved the Yorkshire Rose one. Having said that I've now grown used to the current one, it says Leeds to me and probably the majority so I don't see any need to change it yet again.

 

You sure do need a badge change something with a clown on it or a trapeze artist a ball juggling sealion

Yes we should change it. I like the "retro" look of badges some clubs have been going for.

Shame you didnt include the two best badges we have had then.

1. The white rose.
2. The peacock.

 

I'm puzzled why everyone didn't go for the Yorkshire Rose.

I love it, which might seem strange from someone not from Yorkshire.

There's also the fact that we 'own' the Yorkshire symbolism, indicating the other Yorkshire teams are secondary after us (not sure if I worded that right, but hope you get what I mean.

I liked the one from the John Charles era, with the owls and a hanging sheep in the middle. Don't really think we need to change for the sake of it though
