Good Morning. It's Friday 9th August, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines Nketiah and Meslier loan deals secured Eddie Nketiah and Illan Meslier have both joined Leeds on a season long loan. We have already been told of the immense talent of the Gunners striker and what he can bring to the table, but what about Meslier? The 19yo shotstopper stands 6'7 and represents France at U19 level. He had drawn the attention of both Monaco and Chelsea during the Summer and a 1m bid has already been rejected. Leeds have an option to buy Meslier for a fixed price, though we are not aware what that is! Leeds turn down 35m worth of bids on deadline day Leeds turned down bids for Kalvin Phillips, Adam Forshaw, Luke Ayling and Pablo Hernandez on deadline day totally a whopping 35m. Rumours of Radrizzani being bound, gagged and locked in the downstairs cupboard until 17.01pm is pure conjecture! I'm sure it will come to light shortly who made these bids, and foe how much but it is believed that West Brom were after Ayling! please log in to view this image PR machine running in overtime Angus Kinnear was very quick in pointing out that Leeds Summer transfer window had gone to plan. Speaking to the YEP, Leeds MD said:- “We wanted to keep all the players we thought would be central to us getting promoted. “If you look at the players we’ve retained and overlay Marcelo as well, because he could have left, versus what’s happened across the rest of the league, even teams that should be doing quite well financially; Swansea have sold McBurnie and James for £30m, Bristol City have sold Webster and Kelly for £35m, Brentford have sold Maupay and Konsa for £30m, Birmingham have sold Che Adams for £15m – that is the nature of the league we’re in.” “Look at the window as a whole, we’ve retained who we wanted to retain, we’ve been aggressive in meeting Profit and Sustainability requirements by streamlining fringe elements of the squad and I think the players we’ve brought in will strengthen the team, not least Helder Costa,” said Kinnear. “When we sat down with Marcelo and looked at where we’d potentially fallen short last year we felt it was for the need of an exceptional player who could bring that bit of magic to create a chance or score a goal to get us a victory, in the games we struggled. “Rather than invest in three good players we went out and were very ambitious to sign a player I think is a Premier League player. “When you overlay that with the fact Marcelo believes all of the players can be better than they were last season, particularly he’s excited about some of the players having breakout seasons. “You speak of Tyler Roberts, Jamie Shackleton, Jack Harrison, Jack Clarke, all of whom played a reasonable amount of football, they’re all clearly exceptional talents. “We think if those players continue on the progression they’ve already made, alongside the new players we’ve brought in the team should be stronger than it was last season.” please log in to view this image How have Leeds done this Summer? Morning all.... I feel happy with the transfer window but feel like I shouldn’t be due to the large amount of income we received. The young lad from Arsenal, if anyone else had signed him I wouldn’t have batted an eyelid but because we have I’m excited for big things and lots of goals. I’m unsure of the new keeper, I wish we’d have got someone better than Casilla and I’m very happy we have kept Phillips and signed Costa. I think we look stronger than last season, on one hand we lose Roofe and gain someone who “might” prove to be far better. Roofe was a bit injury prone and with Bamford always a game away from breaking a toenail I guess we did need a change up front from last season. Basically up front the difference is no Roofe but Costa and Nketiah so that’s stronger. Midfield no major changes, defence Pontus out White in and we’ve swapped one young reserve keeper for another. My only gripe is that with the amount of cash we took in and the vast savings on wages surely we could have done even better, one more top defender or Bielsas long term target Kent. It could have been an awful lot worse but I can’t help feel it should have been slightly better too.
Kinnear has more spin than the waltzers on Blackpool pleasure beach, take little notice of what he says. Mixed feelings with the window, happy with loans if they have a buy option. 2 positions we all know needed more cover didn't materialise, really not bothered we didn't get Kent, not at the price quoted anyway. The incomings show short term mentality, as there's only a buy option on 2 of them, £7-8m is a lot to spend on renting players but I know it would only bring in one permanent decent signing, but we get 5 for the season at that price. I still think we could have pushed the boat out furthur, must be some more funds, surely. This looks as though Radz is doing deals as a man giving it one more go before he sells, but still being cautious.
Morning all. Gessa has beaten me to it with most of what I had to say. All the ****e written about spending millions here and there as usual was just that as most of us expected by now. Considering the multiple outgoings and few incomings, we look on paper as good as last season. One thing this close season has proven, is Ortas scattergun approach signing young lads from all over, isn't a roaring success with most of them having to be moved on with no benefit to first team squad. To the best of my knowledge, nobody else in the division has set the world on fire either transfer wise so we should be ok. Im curious who will be able to fill Pablos shoes for half the games where he will need resting or recovery time. BTW, Kinnears statement is flawed. He claims it all went according to plan. Leeds only became aware of the Arsenal lad a few days ago while Bristol were weeks talking to him, some plan and what if wed failed to get him?
Good Morning to Matt and co from a wet Bardsey Well the window is closed for loanee United and we didn't buy a player of note I think we should have had more cover at CB and the young keeper seems to be a bit of a flapper to me I think Eddie will do better than Roofe and White is doing well Costa must improve the wing position so the squad has improved Why we didn't go form Scot Carson or was his wage demands too much? I think we have got rid of at least 30 players which must be the biggest cull ever
Compare our Summer signings to Derby. Remember, Derby have lost Mason Mount and Harry Wilson - two of the best players in the Championship last season. Morning Eire, trying to piece the jigsaw together, it looks like Leeds were originally going to go for Facundo Colidio from Inter, though when it was made clear that Nketiah was available on loan, it was a no brainer. Our loanees are 300% better than last season. Even Harrison looks a different player from this time last season.
We are having a 20 year old Pablo cloned as we speak. You forget Roofe has only been let go since we became aware of the Arsenal lad.
I still think that we were after Kent but I feel he wasn';t interested in coming so let him play in Scotland I don't blame Ryan at Inter for not wanting to come we he found out we were loaning him to Kilmarnock!

Good morning everyone. Glad the tranny window is now closed. Comments. We are stronger than last season and glad we have got rid of so many off the wage bill. Regarding Pontus I am convinced that he was pushed out by Bielsa and also have a feeling that Roofe was also a victim so that Bielsa could get his own players in. Wish Kinnear would stop and think before he opens his mouth I'm not interested in what other clubs do in the Trans Window, only what our club do. His comments sound to me as bit of an apology for not spending much. Looking forward IF we need to spend in the Jan window then Radz can not use the excuse that we are skint, well he can but will make himself out to be a bl--dy liar. I think someone has already mentioned that Radz could be streamlining the club ready for a sale my own personal view is that if we get promoted we will not see him for the dust. Anyway never mind all that it's the quality of football we are interested in.
