Good Morning. It's Friday 27th November, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Trio missing for trip to Goodison Hernandez (muscular), Llorente ( and Shackleton (quad) have all been rules out of playing against Everton tomorrow teatime due to respective injuries. The news came from Bielsa when giving his pre-match press conference yesterday from Elland Road. We can expect to see a similar starting XI that were unlucky not to take all three points against the Gunners last weekend. Bielsa will have to decide whether to start the game with Rodrigo, or bring him on as an impact sub. Personally, I feel he did enough to secure a starting slot against the Toffee's. Costa will be in contention for a recall having scored a wonder goal for the U23's midweek, as they came from behind to beat West Brom 2-1 at Thorp Arch. Will Bielsa give Raphinho his second start of the season, or revert back to Costa? Meanwhile, Everton will be without highly influential full-back Lucas Digne. The 27yo picked up an inkle injury midweek in training, ruling himself out for two months. please log in to view this image Bielsa's pre-match Press conference Bielsa - Tier 3 clubs are being penalised Marcelo Bielsa has criticised the Governments handling of the regionalised tiered return of football fans! The veteran Manager believes the move to allow clubs in tiers one and two to let in a limited number of supporters will 'penalise' clubs in the highest tier like Leeds. Bielsa said: 'It shouldn't be about the category, or the consequences of being in a category, it should be about trying to maintain the competition as equal as possible with things that are controllable. 'The presence of fans has an effect on the results. 'What the organisation says is people who are from places where there's a higher risk of infection, it means they will be penalised. please log in to view this image
Morning all.. Liverpool were Tier 3 before lockdown and they exit as a 2 it doesn’t make sense. If Bielsa is annoyed I’d imagine that the two Manchester teams are spitting nails at the unfair advantage
Morning all, I think we'll have injury issues most of the season but it would be nice to have the problems a fully fit squad presents. Glad to have Rodrigo and Phillips back. I think it should be the same starting 11 as last week but Alioski making way for Rodrigo. I think Rodrigo is too good not to start but it's whether Bielsa thinks he's fit enough. Obviously I'd like to be back at the ground however I'm not too disheartened that others will be allowed fans in and Elland Road won't. You could say it'll be an unfair advantage but if you aren't allowed to sing or drink there won't be any atmosphere anyway. For me I want to be back when it's normal, so we can stand and cheer on our team. The whole point in going to the games for me is to cheer on my team and have a good day out.
Morning all At least we wont have to cope with a load of scousers tomoz as the tier system comes into effect on Wednesday, but it pees me off that Liverpool and London cover half the teams in the Prem and can have fans and half cannot? Saw a good piece last night about the value of our quad now compared to what it was worth in January. Orta has played a blinder and of course Bielsa has improved his players, but in January according to trnsfermarkt.com ur squad was valued at £69.5m today its worth £174.5m and even thats a conservative price as Phillips is only valued at £19m. When you can buy a player like Klich for £1m and Bielsa coaches him to a standard whereby hes good enough for any team in the world..... Somebody help me out here as this is now the 8th day in a row that Riqui Puig has been mentioned as being linked to Leeds Utd. Usually I see plenty of clickbait links to players we were linked with in the past and indeed new names. This however seems to be the only player for a week we are linked with. Yes Victor Orta is close to Barcelona and their kids and yes Barcelona fans know what this kid is capable of and are demanding Koeman picks him, but it seems Koeman is trying to turn the club into a Dutch outfit. Is there anything in it?
Good morning Matt Posted that tier map up earlier in the week on the other forum I resigned myself from day one of the new season that we wouldn't be able attend Leeds matches in 2020/21. Unfortunately due to our government, society behaviour & the nature of this horrible virus it's a sacrifice I accepted long ago. One consolation, at least I won't have to payout for a season-ticket come February please log in to view this image
Morning all, The injury list is not that bad at the moment. Llorente aside none of the injured would be starters. The thing about the value of the squad is exactly why Bielsa is in the list of the top 5 coaches in the world. He had made those players worth what they are. How many of the coaches on the list have done that or have just spent that sort of money to get where they are?
I know on here Maradona is divisive but as someone who hates Lineker and Maradona I thought this was pretty good
We dont seem to do so bad do we, even in the Premier League, but like last season we need to complete these chances
Think they are saying the test everyone in Liverpool that found over 700 asymptomatic people, leading to a big reduction in corona spread is the reason.
Just read a good interview with Poveda who joined us on a free from Man City. He said he just thought football was getting the ball controlling it and dribbling. He was always good at dribbling but since working with Bielsa he made him think about football, his team mates, his positions and how he can make his team mates be involved in his dribbles. He was known as the wizard whilst at Man City but he believes Bielsa has made him into a much better player and all rounder and he says with Bielsa he will become a much much better player. Its almost like being the big headed kid at school who was always the best player and always scored the goals and got the girls, realising that football is about winning and being part of a team and he can only be good if the team is good. A sort of coming of age maybe?
