that's better Ristac. I stopped listening to Ellands anti Bielsa rants and drooling over Philips comments months ago. I'm really looking forward to the first game of the season and I'm booked for it and I can't wait.
KP Average championship player, converted to stand out championship player by Bielsa. 1st year in the prem, excellent, played well for England. 2nd year in prem, dogged by injuries, never hit his previous highs either in the prem or for England. Would you want to pay 60m for a CV like that?
True, but pep does rotate and you would have thought he would have given his mate Marcelo a call to get the lowdown on Kalvin.
I think we're currently in a Derrick Rose situation. It was once asked if Chicago Bull's fans would have rated Rose so highly if he hadn't come from Chicago. He was then traded to the New York Knicks and didn't fair so well. So the question now must be asked is Phillips rated so highly because he's from Leeds then will his career go tits up post move.
This may surprise a few, but I'm now ready to get rid of KP. Can't happen fast enough, as far as I'm concerned! It's sad, as he's been great for us, & you couldn't find a nicer Leeds lad capable of playing for us. However, I've been reflecting a bit more and have reaffirmed a conclusion I came to earlier this year (which I couldn't accept, hence the further consideration). I am now of the firm belief that KP was only on top of his game with Bielsa, playing Bielsaball's QB. He was a perfect fit. I don't think he's had a great game since, & I don't think he'll ever hit those heights again - unless of course Pep does it all over again for him! He's lost his unique place to impress in football & he'll never be as fit again. Simple as that for me. That's why I believe he must get sold asap. Keep him this season - even until the WC - and his value will plummet. I have no doubts about that. Sell, sell, sell!!!
There's no getting away from the fact that Phillips and Raphinha are our best two players by some distance. I've always said that Phillips will never be truly world class as he doesn't possess that 10 yard burst of pace. Other than that I believe he is the real deal. His reading of the game is excellent, his positioning is up there with the best but the biggest thing with Phillips is his passing. It's a small thing but it's important. Yes he passes it square alot but the pace and accuracy of his passes are world class. It looks a simple pass but the pace he gets on it just gives the full backs/wingers that extra yard. It's an obvious transfer really. If he went to Villa, West Ham or Scum it really wouldn't make sense. The fact its City makes it a great move for him. He can go and win the League and Champions League. It's every boys dream. If he goes, I hope he smashes it. If he stays, I believe we have retained one of the better holding players in the league.
If he played for anyone else he’d be worth £80m or more. It’s crazy here in the UK you buy an established current England player with over 20 caps and who reached the Euro final, in todays market he’s worth much more. If we sell him for £60m it’s too cheap and with half a dozen clubs wanting Rapha let them start a bidding war
If he goes to city it's win win for everybody. Leeds get loads of cash KP gets loads of cash and will probably win some titles. Imagine going to england games and seeing harry kane, great player won **** all.
Hearing this ‘made by bielsa’ and will never be the same again stuff a lot at the moment. I’m sure those fools at city will have their flabber ghasted when they realise that, despite their extensive scouting and research that they’ve bought the withered shell of a busted flush. A stringless puppet. Or maybe it will turn out to be utter tosh spouted the clueless moonies of the cult of bielsa? Who can say? Tune in to the PL next season to find out folks!
no you fool… here were Marcelo’s parting words to Phillips: You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar When I met you I picked you out, I shook you up And turned you around Turned you into someone new Now five years later on you've got the world at your feet Success has been so easy for you But don't forget it's me who put you where you are now And I can put you back down too. what a karaoke night His leaving do was
Dunno about all that mate but if you ever fancy a night out in the ' Pink Flamingo ' then you better get your arse down to the next meet up Given the scarcity of tickets that will likely be a TV meet up of course.
We may be down with the dead men as you say but at least we’re in heaven and not in hell, a place where we were so close to dropping down to. You say that’s the part of the PL you hate, losing our best players to the clubs with money, but we’d have lost them anyway if we’d gone down. It’s better to be still in there than be back in the Championship for **** knows how long. I’d resigned myself to Leeds getting relegated and that final day was unbelievable. Let’s not start getting all negative already. Can’t wait for the season to start personally.
