Leeds keen on Nandez

According to media reports, Marcelo Bielsa has made Nahitan Nandez his top summer transfer target. The 25yo Cagliari ace is a gritty and tenacious central midfielder, making him ideally suited to the robust and intense nature of the Prem. The Uruguayan International (35 caps) has a release clause of around £31.3 million.

After starting his career at Peñarol, he later played in Argentina for Boca Juniors, before moving to Cagliari two years ago. West Ham have also been tracking the South American.

Fans go wild for Wood

Leeds fans on social media went into a frenzy following Chris Wood's first half hattrick against a poor Wolves side last Sunday. The former Leeds front man turned on the class, as the New Zealand International reached double figures for the season (10).

Wood, now 29, netted 41 times in 83 appearances over a two year tenure for the Whites before joining Burnley four years ago in a 15m deal.

Would you take Wood back? What about Charlie Taylor? Did we let Wood go too cheaply?

Meslier racks up impressive 70 year top flight record

Illan Meslier has become the first top flight keeper for 70 years to keep a clean sheet against Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United in his debut English top-flight season.

The 21yo French man seems to be going from strength to strength as the season progresses;his improvement throughout the season plain to see. He cannot take all the plaudits. Spanish International Diego Llorente had a torrid time with injury following his switch from Real Sociedad last Summer. Once eventually recovered, the 27yo quickly found his form, helping the Whites to climb into the top half of the Premiership.

Since returning from injury (against Southampton), Leeds have won four, lost two, and drawn three times. They have also kept three clean sheets. Lets also remember that six of these fixtures were against top half sides (Villa, West Ham, Chelsea, Man U, Man C and Liverpool).

Nandez looks like the type of player we should be looking to sign.

i posted about Nandez on the tranny thread as we had attempted a move in the Summer if media is to be believed. The more likely rumour is also mentioned on the thread is its an unheard of 20yo winger, which is more our style than the big name players the media bang in about. The more I think about this winger the more I suspect that theres something in it. Yes Orta has been mentioned and I suspect its true but thats not to say they will sell him as he still has 2 years on his contract. Left winger makes sense because we are overloaded with Right Wingers. When Harrison pulled we switch Raphinha usually. I think Costa could go and a young unknown winger could be brought in to cover Harrison. I think Poveda or Summerville will cover Raphinha. And Sam Greenwood tweeted yesterday that Summerville was like Mbappe?

No to Wood. He's great for a relegation threatened team like Burnley but if we were happy to settle for a big lump who can score 10-14 goals a season I'd be worried we were going backwards and settling for being a Burnley. I'd perhaps have him on the bench in case we need a plan B but that's not Bielsa's style. Taylor would probably be an improvement defensively on Alioski but we can do far better for that type of money abroad.

The big entertainment on twitter last night was Stan Collymore repeatedly claiming he had inside information that Derby County could be on the verge of going into complete liquidation and then almost immediately deleting his tweets.

I wouldn't take Wood back partlly because he burn't bridges with comments he made regarding us supporters.

 

He's not a team player, yes he's a goal scorer, but he'd unbalance our team.

 

If he turns out to be huge, surely K2 would be more apt than KK?
