I do like Steve Stone. He looks petrified, but his voice never wobbles, and everything he says sounds good, and what we need. I think him and David McNally would have been a real force.
He and Webber may well be a 'force' - far too early to say yet. But I like the way both are happy to face the media and answer questions - unlike Moxey, who avoided the media unless he'd stage-managed the whole proceedings No wonder the fans mistrusted the entire board so deeply. With that tw@t as a front man
Interesting comment from Martin Penney on MFW - "And finally the one we’re all sweating on. The new head coach. I heard a very interesting suggestion yesterday (thanks, James!) about somebody from tier two of the Bundesliga. I don’t remember the name, but his pedigree was interesting, to say the least.!!" This is a rumour - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jens_Keller And this is another rumour- "Read in the local papers Rosler in talks to extend his contract with his staff they have already had talks with Fleetwood chairman on next season" on one of the comments by someone who lives 'oop North' Read all about it - http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...en-pit-and-barclay-and-a-ruddy-good-send-off/
I'm devastated!! I assumed from the wiki link headline that Keller's first name would be Bier and that Union Berlin was a brewery! After all, there's a Dortmunder Union Imagine my shock, despair and trauma when I clicked on that horrid link and discovered the 'bitter' truth!
It's reported that Lambert is considering walking out on Wolves over transfer policy. NO, NO, and thrice NO. There is no way he could work in our new system for starters. He would want much more control than SW would allow. A nd he has hardly pulled up trees since leaving us.
Blimey, really? After leaving Blackburn in similar fashion that lad is going to get himself a reputation. I'm not sure he has done enough right in any job since leaving CR to command a better position than that at Wolves. That said, if he hasn't got and can't get the players he feels he requires then he's on a hiding to nothing any way. His star has stalled and you wonder if he just got lucky with the stars aligning at CR to make him look a little better than he is? Nothing since makes particularly pretty CV reading. Ok at Villa under tough cirmumstances, OK at Blackburn under tough circumstances and buggered off and Ok at best with Wolves and is looking to bugger off again. I'm sure he will be headhunted by a club that isn't a complete basketcase again sometime soon and maybe his star can rise again. Bah!
Mike Walker was sheer class .......in his first spell here Lightning rarely strikes twice - I don't see why Lambert would be any different.
I heard a very strong rumour as to why he had to leave second time, and it was nothing to ndo with football. Of course, I have absolutely no idea if there was any truth in the rumour!
Only just come in and I am in 100% agreement with the General and REALLY don't want PL back at the club. He was absolutely the right manager at the time, but as has been said, he hasn't been anywhere as near as successful anywhere else. My hunch is still with someone we know nothing about from Germany. Edit - in the words of Victor Meldrew - I DON'T believe it!!!! The EDP is running a poll asking whether or not you'd want PL back at CR and 57% (out of 2.5K voters) say they would!!!
I don't blame Lambert one bit for wanting to leave Wolves with having players forced on him by an agent. It's a case of the SD-HC system gone horribly wrong. But I would rather have someone new.
I'm sorry (well, not really), but I've changed my mind about AI and believe he may well be involved in some lesser capacity.
It's beginning to look more and more like that and the the kind of links JMF found in the MFW article are probably looking in the right places.
