Over on the Gooner thread, Pix has predicted that Arsenal will finish top 4.

No, don't laugh!

I have a couple of socks operating over there.

 

That's a bold prediction, if he did indeed say that.
I personally would have waited until after the transfer window.
At least 2 of the top 4 are cemented (barring a a catastrophic disaster) in City and Liverpool.

So we have, as with last season, Chelsea, Spurs, United and Arsenal competing for those other two slots.
The smart money would be on Spurs and United, seeing as Chelsea have a transfer ban and Arsenal have no CL football to attract a better class of player.
But you never know. It depends on so much, who United sign, if that N'Dombele guy works out for Spurs, who Arsenal sign, how Chelsea youngsters pan out (gulp).

I aint gonna try to predict **** regarding the other two CL spaces.

I am pretty sure City and Pool will be top two.
And I also think Newcastle, Norwich and Sheff United are going down. (Or possibly Brighton)

 

Well the thread is called ‘make a bold prediction’ so I did.

Not sure if we will or not. As you say, a lot depends on this transfer window. If we can get a CB, LB and a Winger in, then we’ve got a chance.

A lot depends on what you and Utd do too.

Rather than be rattled by me, why not rip the piss out of Pix for predicting that Arsenal will finish top 4?

He was asked to make a bold prediction, and so he made one.....
If the thread was called, "Where do you think Arsenal will actually finish in the league" and he said top 4, then that would be something we could have a discussion about.

Arsenal winning the league would be a ****witted one, but 4th? I think there's 5 or 6 clubs with a shout for 4th this season, I put West Ham.

City and Pool, almost certainly not....

Chelsea and Spurs though, Why couldn't Arsenal sneak above us, they only missed out on 3rd place by 2 points ffs.
And we can't sign anyone, so its far from completely ****witted.
Am not saying it will happen, and I certainly don't want it to, but its by no means "****witted".

Certainly, if we go off last season, predicting that Arsenal will finish 4th this season doesn't look so fcukwited. However, we need to bear in mind a few things. Firstly, neither you Chavs nor us were convincing - I would even go so far as to say we were dire, at times. Yet, Arsenal still managed to **** it up. That was their best chance of getting back into the top 4 and they blew it big time. We might have been ****e, Bodi, but the Gunners were appalling.

I know you've got this transfer ban, but I really do think that Lamps can galvanise your squad, despite the fact that you've lost your best player. I think you are good enough to challenge United for 4th.

Whichever of you two doesn't get 4th, the other will get 5th.

So, the most that Arsenal can hope for is 6th. AND that's only if they manage to get a couple of decent players in.

Look at them.

They are in complete disarray ffs! Their captain has gone on strike, they have a player who is stinking out the dressing room by collecting a massive wedge each week but doing very little for it and pissing off the rest of the squad, and you've got a manager who looks like a slapstick comedian from a Buster Keaton movie!

If Arsenal fcuk this up, I really can see Wolves and Everton finishing above them.
