Best Driver: Struggling again this week. Worst Driver: Nasr, but only for not looking in his mirrors. No one seemed to have a really bad weekend. Best Rookie: Werdheim for getting his Manor into Q2 again Best Team: Mercedes Worst Team: Torro Rosso. No pace at all. Best Overtake: Ricciardo on Bottas. Most Surprising Result: Hamilton's starting jitters returned Least Surprising Result: Still ended up a Merc 1-2 Funniest moment: Alonso's radio conversations Excuse of the week: Special Mention: Button and Massa Best post from the race thread: Race Rating: 4/10. Too predictable even with Hamilton's bad start. A few good scraps and moves down the field.
Best Driver: i fell asleep.... button did do for his team mate though Worst Driver: ermmm.... several went backwards by miles... pick one. Best Rookie:. Meh. Best Team:... all competant. Nothing stood out at all. Worst Team: team sky in the tour of spain.. i dunno they were all pretty much unspectacular Best Overtake: apparently being able to brake without crashing and having a total puss pull off the track qualifies so must be Ricciardo... though he had drs like... Most Surprising Result: hamilton didn't win this Least Surprising Result: mercedes 1/2 Funniest moment: toto wolff being a cock as per. Or maybe brundle gooing over raikkonen being behind verstappen but gaving it ruined by an immediate pitting for mad max. Excuse of the week: hamilton trying to deny he admitted ****ing up. Saying it was to calm his engineers when they spent 19 laps trying to convince the guy to not ruin his tyres Special Mention: for pulling car over by service road and not caslusing a safety car... Best post from the race thread: my own no doubt Race Rating: 5/10 saved only by a brief coyple passes at start
Best Driver: Ricciardo outperformed his car again Worst Driver: No terrible performances, so I'm going for after Nasr a pretty random shove. Hamilton screwing up the one thing he had to do ran him close. Best Rookie: Ocon did OK after a lack of running Best Team: Merc Worst Team: Manor for poor reliability Best Overtake: Daniel on Bottas Most Surprising Result: Hamilton not winning Least Surprising Result: Merc, miles ahead at a power circuit Funniest moment: Alonso red light Melt down Excuse of the week: The McLaren/Jenson announcement Special Mention: Anyone who stayed awake all the way through. Best post from the race thread: That random rant about how awesome Hamilton is, being followed at as it was by that start. Race Rating: 3.5/10
Best Driver: Probably Riccardo Worst Driver: Kyvat Best Rookie: Werdheim for getting his Manor into Q2 again Best Team: Mercedes Worst Team: Renault Best Overtake: Button double in turn 1/2 Most Surprising Result: Max being very quiet Least Surprising Result: Still ended up a Merc 1-2 Funniest moment: Alonso's laughing, although I suspect Ron wouldn't agree Excuse of the week: Special Mention: Button's drive from the back was very good all things considered, shame FUBARd the start. Best post from the race thread: The Wum Race Rating: 5.5/10.
Best Driver: Rosberg judged his race perfectly. Ricciardo had another good day but the Ferraris were too quick for Red Bull this time. Worst Driver: I have to agree with others: Nasr was probably the only contender. Best Rookie: Wehrlein. Best Team: Mercedes. Worst Team: Toro Rosso / Sauber. Best Overtake: Three stood out to me. In chronological order: Button v Alonso was superbly planned. There was a big smile inside that helmet. Ricciardo v Bottas was audacious and probably the most spectacular. (One wonders what reaction would have been if it had been someone else…). And finally, Verstappen v Perez – who I thought was over-cautious, thus handing it to the teenager. Most Surprising Result: Mercedes' poor starts have become a theme for 2016, but I was surprised at just how poor Hamilton's was. Least Surprising Result: Mercedes 1-2. Funniest moment: I suppose Alonso's red light (?) was marginally funnier than Eddie Jordan's cringe-worthy efforts to artificially enthuse an already enthusiastic crowd. Excuse of the week: Not sure if 'excuse' is the right word but I too am a little surprised at the new Button / McLaren situation. Special Mention: Positive: Massa. Button. Negative: Rosberg being booed is disgraceful behaviour. How he handled it was exceptional and admirable. Best post from the race thread: Bhaji always manages to amuse me. Race Rating: 5.05/10
