As good as it gets and HONESTLY bar having a real player in for the young and potentially good borini its a good side... add lucas in and push gerrard on and it is as good as it gets.

Bench looks so weak, nothing to change the game there. Assaidi is a Muslim, so I know he had ramadan, might have affected his fitness??

It does worry me slightly looking at the bench that Downing is our most attacking option.

I would have started Shelvey instead of Sahin. The rest of it seems right.

    BBC feed

    1230:
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, speaking on 23 August about his limited options up front: "I need a minimum of three strikers - once the window shuts, that is it until January.
"I have got Luis Suarez, Fabio Borini and Andy Carroll. So I would need to be a nutcase to even consider at this moment letting Andy Carroll go out, unless there are other solutions for that."

I'm thinking it was not Rodgers who did it. I think Rodgers was happy to have Carroll.

I think the suits who look at the money decided Carroll was costing to much and had to b traded in for a cheaper alternative. But then our owners felt that Dempsey was to old to justify his transfer fee and didnt allow the money. We then looked at Daniel Sturridge, but Chelsea need him.

Apparently Assaidi hasn't had a full preseason yet. Will play after the break.

I'm to superstitious to predict scores. When people ask me if I think we'll win I refuse to answer.

I hope we get another Suarez free kick stormer today. I enjoy that last week.

Funny how he can do that so perfectly but wasted so many simpler chances v West Brom. Hopefully Suarez confidence is up now and his finishing will improve. He has scored in two games in a row now.

Bench looks poor no real attacking options surprised Morgan didn't make the bench as he is our only other striker

My exact thought. If we are struggling, there is actually nothing we can do about it.

I guess the thing is you could push Gerrard further up into a central striker position move Suarez out wide or move Borini inside and bring Downing/Henderson on wide.

The thing with Suarez/Borini is they can play in numerous positions across the front 3 and Gerrard and also play there so rather than bring someone on from the bench you could just reshuffle the positions.

However saying that, I would prefer another striking option on the bench <ok>

He's dropped after the Hearts blunder <ok> he can sit on the bench and reflect on that error

Thrilled Mertesacker is playing for Arsenal instead of Koscielny. He tends to struggle against small, quick, tricky players so Sterling/Suarez should have a field day agaisnt him!
