Tbh the Shannon stuff felt a regurgitation of earlier work touched on in a couple of series. It was good though. I liked the first book there. Lost heroes is good stuff I liked skilgannon as well. The first brigante stuff was best imo. I felt as it went on it lost a bit.
Yep . Even with his Troy stuff... you could see he had become a better writer... loved it He's a miss in that genre now and badly copied... Maybe it's my age but not a lot catches my imagination from that genre now. Any suggestions?
Best world builders and inner monologue? Are Martin and Herbert... but both could get so side tracked, densely lol... to a detriment of the story arc Early King was the same. Could see why a lack of this on cinema lead to Tarantino... until you realise his films like him talk at high speed because they aren't saying anything
Which is why I liked Gemmell. . It was about the interaction...between friends, enemies etc etc... the conflict just reinforced the former
here was a lad down in Cornwall by the name of Ben kane who was decent. at least his first couple efforts at a trilogy were. really good Roman historical mixed with a story. I also like Brandon Anderson's work.
Went to see Hereditary last night ... enjoyed it although it gives up a lot of the very unnerving stuff it does well for the first third and goes off in another direction with an unexpected, kind of baffling but what i thought was surprisingly good ending
Just added this to my Netflix list. A true crime drama about separate LAPD investigations into the murders of two hip hop icons. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6233618/
Looks like the final nails are being prepared for The Walking Dead coffin. Andrew Lincoln looks to be leaving the show along with Laura Cohen (Maggie), the show has gone downhill rapidly and even with Darryl taking the lead role there's no saving it. The show has turned into a cash cow with the people running it dragging every penny out of it other than giving the show a direction and ending. It's a shame that such a good show was allowed to die such a death. All reference to death in this post are intentional and added for dramatic effect.
If next series is to be Lincoln's last it should be the shows last as well. Its got to the point where it needs a deadline. They've got FTWD to make up anyway
It's what annoys me.... I don't watch that but know it's obviously been good but listening to fans does the usual... Meanwhile ebery studio dumps good things after 2 years because it has moderate but consistent viewers even when they **** it off to a crap yank night just so they can continue paying the inflated wages of a show that by the time they do it is past its prime. Grrrrr
