Typically Saints will grind out a creditable 1-1 draw against all odds and then go on to get slapped by West Ham and Bournemouth. Could be interesting though I have a feeling City might be Ralph’s last game in charge, founded on no basis other than a hunch.
If Saints were going to jum ship with Ralph, I would have thought that they would have sounded out the ground during the international break. In my opinion, it would seem strange no bombing him out dring the summer and then having a new manager / coaching team. I think there would be plenty of takers for the Saints manager's role. Sad if Ralph left but the football is nowhere as near as tantalising as when he first joined. It feels like two different managers, to be honest. Ralph will always remain an enigma.
Wasn’t it Alfe Inge Haaland who had his leg broken and career ended by Roy Keane? Poetic justice that his son should be breaking United hearts.
I did see a Facebook post that suggested that Roy Keane should have targeted Alfe’s testicles and not his knee, with that infamous challenge.
Hard to imagine a more satisfying long game than spawning and raising a generational talent to adulthood then unleashing it’s full potential against your foes. Only flaw here is that Erling Haaland was already born when the tackle occurred.
The look on Haaland’s face as he jumped to head his first goal yesterday suggests he doesn’t actually care that teams try and stop him scoring.
Hes scored more goals in the last 3 home games than our whole team has all season. All of the stats around him are genuinely mind blowing
I thought the first half in particular, that ABK was getting too tight and getting turned too easily because of it. Haaland will be a different contest and I think the danger won’t be playing it to his feet with his back to goal, but with balls through/over/behind the defence. I won’t be surprised if we line up 5-4-1 and show minimal attacking intent.
Personally I think we should play ABK, Salisu, DCC, and Lyanco and set them all to man-mark Haaland. It’s not as though City have any other attacking options…
I’ve genuinely never felt less confident of a result before. Even in the past against the big clubs I’ve always thought… “yeah. we could sneak a point here if we ride our luck”. But with haaland up front and those creative players behind him… we will be lucky to keep it below 5.
