Black, save your sympathy. Whilst he is there, they will never be in danger of financial ruin. Us Chinese owned clubs don't have that same luxury. Screw them. I hope Bruce comes in and is as bad as I think.
Yeah on the attendances my memory is playing tricks on me, I thought I remembered a few year period of that kind of number but it was actually one season (91), a few 20ks around/before that but thinking about it a lot of crowds dropped during those years. They've probably had less arrests cos they're all banned, about 5 times as many as ok 2018. I agree with you to an extent about other clubs, but since '09 I've taken a bit of an interest in these situations and remember I'm not saying he's a good owner and they have to like him, just that the level of hate for him and general sympathy for them is disproportionate compared to a lot of other owners. He's made mistakes and is only interested in a profit (again, see most owners), but if I bought a majority stake in a football club, steadying it from being on the brink financially, and within a year the supporters were calling me a fat **** etc. I'd probably enjoy taking the piss out of them as well. Not sure what your point is here really, that Newcastle deserve better owners than say Charlton or Hull cos they've got big support and won some league titles 100 years ago? Can't really agree with that mate. It goes back to how there's a lot of entitlement from the fanbase living off a few title challenges 20 years ago. They're no different to most the other non top 6 sides now really imo. Don't mean stature there but in terms of expectations etc. As mentioned I didn't see this sympathy for Sunderland over the past couple of years, and everything that applies to Newcastle applies to them too except Short was a much worse owner who caused far more damage.
Yeah, you've completely missed my point there. Nevermind. Anyway, I can understand anyone wanting them to do badly from a competitive point of view. But to get joy out of it; I just find it a bit harsh. This isn't Spurs or Liverpool. Newcastle are a proper club, no plastic hangers-on. They're not an arrogant bunch, and I find their fans decent and on a level with us. Same with Sunderland since you keep bringing them up. Anyway its obviously a personal thing. I just save my spite for the select few clubs at the top.
EDIT: oh you mean as a player. My bad. Anyway thats 40 years ago. I think its better to look at the last 10 years or so.

Steve Bruce confirmed as Newcastle manager. Doesn't sound like the works of an incoming Sheikh Billionaire.
