Tiptoeing a little off topic here but Glasgow has shut roads in the City Centre for: Men's 10k Half Marathon Marathon Glasgow Pride Orange Walk x 2 European Champs road race European Champs time trial All in just the last two months. Always to include a weekend. Always the same main roads. Many small businesses already up against it are the ones that suffer.
Ah no I understand some events require actions such as road closures etc... But I don’t think pride festivals come under that category IMO. But at the risk of being called homophobic I won’t comment any more on the subject.
Best agree to disagree I think mate before it goes political , I see your point of view , but it doesn’t line up with mine.
Yep I agree, and I am sure you didn’t mean it the way some have/will take it. The written word is sometimes misinterpreted.
I like events. Brings in people, money. Gives some entertainment and things to experience while breaking up the monotony of day to day life. All good stuff. There's a little bit of disruption but it can all be planned around. Life would be boring if everything ran like clockwork all the time.
I am thinking that there may need to be a police presence to head off those coming up from the train station on the Toys R Us side of the train station or people will just barrel straight through the parade route. I will be going via Commercial Road and instead of going in front of the Civic, will detour through the park, to avoid it all. Edit. Could this not have been arranged for when the likelihood of it clashing with a home football match could have been prevented, ie during July?
Looking forward to a 3pm start on a Saturday. Also very pleased that Steptoe won’t be on the pitch. Incidentally, I recently had a chat with someone well connected to the club who said that Puel went despite decent results because he had lost the players-MP2 was given more time than he probably should have because he was a very popular figure at the club, including with the players, despite the results. Let’s hope that the lads are happy with Sparky- at least there should be no doubt that he knows what he’s doing- whether you agree with individual decisions of his, or not.

Yep, last time we played them at home was depressing. A better team this time around , with the right formation and personnel, picking the right one is the key. I would like to see Sam G and Inges together, I think Charlie is too slow and Sam will work well feeding off Inges work rate.
Ha! Well of course results are everything but I confess I so wanted MP2 to succeed due to his essential decency. It took me a lot longer than many on here to accept the inevitable.
To be fair, Claude Puel always struck me as being a decent bloke, he was just not very good at communicating in English, I always thought that he should've been afforded the same courtesy as Poch and had an interpreter for interviews.
