That would be the case if it wasn't for the fact that all the above were working together virtually from Day 1. Some might be inclined to consider the term criminal conspiracy. Although not me, obviously......
When Spurs challenged the award to The Spammers by way of Judicial Review, as the initial terms under which any bid should have been considered didn't favour them enough, those terms were changed. For example, the football club had to accept a tenancy. That's exactly what we didn't want and The Spammers did. It was a stitch up from the off. Boris Johnson convinced Levy to bid but he only wanted us to drive the price up a bit. However, Levy didn't do what Boris wanted and it was given away for some non-magic beans. The Spammers were in on it from the start. As soon as it was decided to (mis)use it for football, they were always going to be given it.
I'd agree but can not get past the fact that their owners and those responsible are all Tory MP's, former Tory MP's, a Tory Lord or Lady, Tory fund raisers and Tory supporters...oh and all are rich as **** yet they have all cost tax payers (the vast majority of who are massively less well off) an absolute fortune. No bitching at you RBDB but will never know how they all got away with this.
Suggestions that the Spammers are looking to recruit the soon to be available John Terry. Never were a club and player better suited for each other - a total **** among *****!!
I would have assumed the Spanners would be getting VAT exemption/refunds (in what way can their on-pitch performances be deemed sufficiently "value added" to warrant them charging VAT ?? ) .
Hmm, French authorities are apparently involved. 1. Perhaps somebody has been using EU tax laws to allow French players to avoid/evade their tax liabilities in France or the UK. 2. Don't breathe yet : Sissoko is a French player and was also at the Toon.
One thing I don't get was the need to send 50 officers to raid files and documents in West Ham's offices. Waste of time and personnel. If they wanted to prove tax fraud, one bloke standing outside the London Stadium pointing at it would have been more than sufficient.
Maybe a waste of personnel but frankly as a spectacle it is entertainment of the highest order and I would have paid good money for a front row seat to watch the doors go in. In fact probably the only reason i would ever buy a ticket for the Taxpayers Arena!! Wonder how the ugly witch will spin this in her column??
They are cooperating with the investigation. That's what they've come up with, so far. This doesn't take into account that they've got little choice but do exactly that. Could be good for 'that woman'. She's been putting on the pounds and vertical stripes are supposed to be slimming.
Can anyone confirm whether the HMRC's tipoff was Karrunt Brady bragging how little tax the club was paying in her Sun column?
Perhaps the HMRC hypocrisy alarms went to critical over her comments about benefits cheats, forcing them to go full Jimmy Liddel on her. <I am not having that, mate>
One note of caution is that this seems to have something to do with transfers involving French clubs, specifically Marseille. We signed N'Koudou from them, loaned them N'Jie and bought Sissoko from Newcastle, though he came from Toulouse. I'd assume that Levy's not silly enough to get involved in this sort of thing, but you never know.
I heard that they were starting at the top as far as club status is concerned and moving down through the divisions. If that is accurate then we should be ok!!
