Agreed RB isn't essential. I'm hoping Trippier recovers and if he does then fine.

But CM could do with improving. Longstaff as our 1st choice back up CM is just not good enough.

 

Your forgetting Miley. Young players need game time and what quality CM will look at us and think they will dislodge Bruno, Joelinton or Tonali? That reduces your targets somewhat.

 

Yeah the Ressies are people you'd select the extra 3 on top of the 22 above from If you can get a CF/RW hybrid you could keep J.Murphy or Wilson in for free.

 

Aged 22 and under before December 31 don't count.

 

Miley is 17 years old and although he has talent, my main concern is that he lacks pace and defensive quality. He's still at least 2-3 years away from being good enough IMO.

When he played we were far more defensively open despite his good passing ability.

I'm not sure he suits our side. In order for our 4-3-3 to be the most effective, pace and physical attributes are key and Miley is the slowest player in our team besides Burn.

 

Not sure about Tino is a good one... Remember when he came into the team and won MOM in his first 4 games?

Immense talent - needs more games in a settled back 4.

 

Next year is the season he takes Trippiers place imho, he's had a decent run of games tail end of this year and another whole preseason with the squad will do him (and Hall) wonders.

I personally rate Ashby as well I think he will come good but may be a tad late to the party as by the time he's getting there I expect us to be signing the next Cafu.

 

Trippier has been ****ing dreadful since he started sticking things in places he shouldn't have

More I think about it the more I'm excited to see Minteh in preseason - 17 goal contributions in 37 games this year , scored ever 181 mins according to transfer market. Granted it's the Eredivisie but still exciting to see a 19 year old doing so well out on loan this year.

If he could come in on the RW that would save us a chunk of money and free up a squad space as he's 19 - so doesn't need registering. Then all we really need is a CF alongside the other 3 at the back potentially coming in on the "cheap":

Marmadashvili - £35m
Tosin - Free
Kelly - Free

That'd leave a lot of money to go and get a very good second choice CF behind Isak and hopefully a proper DM.
