Lewin would be wilsons replacement... not bad work. Lewin can play and maybe his injury situation has cleared up. Might end up being good work.
If you can get Olise for a £60m release clause, or pay £60m for Bowen, which is the better option? If you have to spend £50m+ on DCL, or can pay £40m for Sesko, which is the better option? I just hope we pull our finger out after two crap windows in a row, we really can't afford a third with Chelsea likely to improve, Man U likely to improve, and the continued improvements at Brentford, Palace and B'mth. If Brighton get McKenna that's an issue. Even staying top 10 is difficult, but we'd make it even harder by continually pursuing injured/bottom half players.
Is that faith you have in your thoughts. Might and will. He might but past history suggests he will be injured for most of the season just like Wilson. So it’s not really an upgrade.
Bowen is 28. Olise for 60m would be great business but he also has had injury problems. And I reckon he will end up at Manu when Antony gets flogged.
Mate Newcastle aren't going to sell Isak and if they did they wouldn't make lewin his replacement. They put a price tag of 180 million on Isak ... he's essentially not for sale.
He'd be a disastrous signing. Thankfully I don't think it's likely, as he's the kind of bloke who wants to be the main man and he'd be second fiddle here. The whole thing doesn't add up for me. Terrible injury record, hugley expensive. Just wonder where our scouting is these days - but then, these are only rumours and as usual we will only know for sure Sept 1st. It's a strange one - look at the top scorers in Germany; Guirassy (one season wonder), Undav (terrible at Brighton), Kramaric (rubbish at Leicester). La LIga's top scorer is Sorloth, who was awful at Palace. It's such fine margins but it's why the scouting has to be so, so good.
It's just a rumour and he's actually a decent player when he's available. He can hold it up a bit which isak can't, so at times he'd be useful option from the bench.
Apparently not - Man U have PSR issues, Radcliffe is supposed to be pulling right back on the big spending. And from what I understand Sancho is back and bought a house in Manchester - I think this again probably speaks to the claim the Southgate is getting the job as he loves an England U-21!!
As I said, there are actually a lot of players who could do it. I'd actually rather get Morris from Luton than DCL. He'd be about £50m cheaper and can do roughly the same job. Mateta's done nowt for years, he's now a £50m striker because he scored 10 in 14 matches or something. It's so immediate it makes no sense - not helped by agents desperately trying to get rich off the next big thing. All linked - if they actually followed through and clamped down on agent fees, a lot of this noise and ridiculous fees would disappear, which in turn helps regulate clubs finances.
I agree. And the scouting has to coincide with the managers style of play and thought process is. It’s why when managers are lumped with players they didn’t want it doesn’t work. Bowen/Olise would both be good signings and a massive improvement on the RW. I do wonder if we should hold onto Minteh and see if he can make his mark.
