There's been a number of nation league games and I still don't know what's it's for. I thought it counted toward European qualification. 90% of internationals are pointless, the major tournemounts are ok, but only to fill a summer. The quality of the top teams in the top leagues now far out weighs even the best international team.
The top division mini groups (4) winners play off in a semi final and final for quali spot. I have no idea what the second tier are playing for. It seems utterly stupid to me. Worse it's boring. We seem to have just wasted the year
It reminds me of the titheadttrophy and the Concorde cup that the teams play in preseason, a posh name for a friendly. But the ops right every 3 weeks seems to see an international break, especially at the start of the season, which is a bigger when your hoping your team finds some rhythm
True as well but at least they were different teams not 2game v Croatia that have lost their good players and aredull
Lot of people here seem to be moaning about things that don't exist anymore ffs, have any of you bothered to actually look into it? Anyway I like the look of this Nations League and think we'll be rid of all but pre tournament friendlies within a couple of years as other federations follow suit. Next step I believe is making the breaks longer but have less of them which will be much better firstly, as it means less disruption to the domestic season and secondly because it will make the tournament easier to follow.
This is the day the international break bites. Usually its get up check who's playing, who's on Tele, what time I'll start drinking, have the weekend mapped out. Instead it's **** all, I could take advantage of the break and spend some quality time with the kids and wife, or I could mope around all day, occasionally kicking the dog.
I moped about abit, ive come round to work now, might as well mope here and do a bit than mope at home.
Thought it was time to resurrect this thread because it's been a while since I mentioned how much I hate ****ing International Breaks.
I just feel like you're getting all revved up for the season - it starts.........., and then ...... stutters.............. and I find it frustrating. I suppose it's not too bad if you actually give a toss about the national team, but as I'm somewhat underwhelmed by international football I find the whole thing an unwelcome interruption. I know many players think of it as an honour to play for their country, and I respect that, but if our players are going to get knackered or injured, as a fan I'd rather it be in the service of their club.
