... according to a Tudor written history ... despite his disability he led his armies in battle and was a formidable fighter, as was his elder brother Edward ... <cheers>

He got blamed for it, particularly after he was dead ... he always denied he had anything to do with it.

Lots of contrasting theories ... but being a dead plantagenef hunchback in a Tudor world certainly didn't help his defence ... <laugh>

    Tudor written history?

Much of what happened during the war of the roses can only be gleaned from a trove of letters that still exist that were sent at the time.

He also had his nephews killed, despite the one bullshit claim he didn't.

He was imo OK until his brother died, after his brother's **** drove them and the Nevilles apart, once the throne was there for the talking, he didn't hold back from anything/

Edward was a martial king, best since Henry of Agincourt but he was completely cucked by Elisabeth Woodville

Richard was hated so much he was betrayed in battle by his own forces. No one turned on Edward in battle I think.

Didn't realise you were there mate, so I'll bow to your superior knowledge, ... that despite me being born and raised in Leicester and having a father who was in the Fellowship of the White Boar as a younger man (now The Richard III Society) ... worth a read of their stuff if you want a more balanced view <cheers>

"Despite I learned some of the history" you mean, and depending on the historian you'll get a different take, so I aggregate them, because I cant tell who's most accurate. Nice guy Richard is not a common tale from historians

He killed his nephews for his brother's throne, he also got rid of those who had supported his brother's sons, by false accusations of treason.
He killed the kids, not personally, and then purged the court, those things lead to his betrayal on the battlefield. In fact the death of his kid led to the retry by Margarate

    **** off <laugh>

Besides, he's nothing but a footnote king, without Richard III by shakespear, we'd largely not know or care who he was.

Absolute proof that you know fook all about it <laugh>

The most damning work on Richard is arguably William Shakespeare's play ... Elizabeth I was on the throne at the time and rather fond of loosening heads ... so Willy was pretty unlikely to write a play that labelled Lizzie's Grandad a **** and the man he took the throne from a shining knight and paragon of virtue? ... so yes mate, Tudor history .. thanks for playing <cheers>

PS the Richard III society was formed by historians for historians ...

"Absolute proof that you know fook all about it "

Impossible to discuss anything with you.

    " thanks for playing"

    Its a game?

Why does being wrong make people behave this way I dont know.

I'm only saying what historians say, and what I said about the letters is accurate.

Edward let Woodville turn him against the Nevilles so she could replace them with her own family.

    None of this is controversial

You're still living the war of the roses with your "Tudor history" stuff <laugh>
I guess you're of the white rose then

Or do you just hate the Welsh? :bandit:

Funnily enough, as much as Elisabeth Woodville did her part to split Edward from his by far most powerful support in Richard Neville and his family, Margrate Beaufort more or less engineered the downfall of Richard on the battlefield

and feminists say women back then were just child minders, those two women did much to bring about events and shape a country <laugh>

You made an assertion that he killed his nephews and that led to his betrayal ... that is bollocks... he was betrayed by the duplicitous Stanleys who were Lancastrians who had originally bent the knee to Edward of York. They had no loyalty to the princes. That was why I said you knew fook all.

Don't be so sensitive ya melt. <laugh>

It was an easy win mate yes, but I'm not here to take the piss.

Losing to a bunch of Belgian tyre fitters is bad enough, but then witnessing Maureen crying like a lil bitch on the bus all on his own and posting it on instagram, has done my piss taking for me <laugh>

    Cheers Mo <cheers>
