Excellent 2 goals after Senegal had been on top .

Classic signed of a top team !

Be clinical when it matters .

He ran a very long way, but didn't get much of a look in.

Apart from the dodgy 20 minutes in the middle of the first half, England were very comfortable. Routine, almost.

Did well when Senegal were playing well but faded once we took control.

Basically the same as he might for us if we're getting outplayed.

Those 2 goals were a killer for Senegal and we grew in confidence.

How will the French see playing England?

I understand the manager there isn't exactly flavour of the month despite appearing to have done very well.

He had a chance early on around the 6 yd box and put it over under pressure from Pickford. Senegal played well for 1st 30 mins but after England scored they faded.

Sarr seems to be a bit lightweight, despite his obvious abilities. If he had the attitude of say, Julian Dicks or Paul Robinson, he'd be so much more influencial on the pitch.

Just needs to run and get past players more I feel using that pace rather than allowing himself to drift out of games.

Mind you he did go past Walker and got hacked down on on occasion but the England defender managed to avoid a booking somehow.

I love the fact Sarr, a fast, skillful and technical player is being compared to 2 of the hardest full backs ever to play pro football!

Croatia like a penalty shoot out

Japan’s penalties looked a bit tired

Shame, I really wanted Japan to go through, but those penalties were awful. Proof I think that penalties aren't necessarily a lottery: the team with the better technique won.

I bet Troy Deeney would have been going mad if he was watching!

With Brazil leading Korea 4-0 at half-time, it looks like a mismatch. How many more games like this if you expand the competition to 48 teams?

They may play some good football but there's something very unlovable about this Brazilian team - too many swollen egos, too much theatrical diving and ridiculous goal celebrations.

That equally applies to EPL teams.

Plus having the ref on your side helps.

Thought it was going to be 7/8 but Korea didn’t give in and improved .

    100% agreement here, it wasn't a penalty.
