lol Lovren is absolutely ****. Matip isn't great but he's levels above Lovren.

 

I'm confident that VVD will still come to Liverpool before the end of the window. And I wouldn't be surprised if he was made captain.

Imo we have said we are out of it and have not tried one thing since.

 

disagree on his positioning where i think he does get caught out quite regularly. He is a liability at setpieces as he doesn't do his job at all of attacking the ball but because he looks "stylish" on the ball he seems exempt from criticism.

 

i wouldn't be surprised i would be ****ing furious that someone who has been so unprofessional joins us & immediately becomes our captain.

 

I agree - Matip hasn't been great since he was injured last season (January). But he is massively better than Lovren.

But we shouldn't underestimate his ability on the ball - our cowardly captain doesn't take responsibility so Matip often steps up and tries to start attacks.

 

Don't care - VVD is the character to bollock players if they **** up and that's what we badly need. We need more vocal players.

Henderson simply isn't captain material, and I think relieving him of that burden may help his game.

 

i'd rather have less ability on the ball & Matip getting on with the actual job of defending .
If Henderson is cowardly so is Matip as he regularly absences himself from the scene on set pieces .

 

you don't need the captains armband to be the defence leader .Agree we need more leaders all over the pitch.

 

Good news: We collected more points from losing position than any other premiership club last season..
Bad News: We dropped 18 points from winning position last season.

Was there any official reason why Robertson was not in the squad? He wasn't injured by all accounts. Is this Klopps way of telling Edwards that he doesn't know his arse from his elbow?

 

No idea, maybe Klopp wants him to take his time in settling down.Moreno had not done badly either.

Our defence was not excellent, but good enough against Arsenal .
