Germany 4-0 up against Norway, no f*cking about by the Fatherland. Northern Ireland 2-0 up v Czechs with only 25% possession...
Well the Scots took a lot less time than us to crack Malta. Watching the Germany v Norway highlights, our excellent Canadian analyst, Craig Forrest, commented, "well what can you say, Germany are everything England aren't" Now let's chalk up a scoreline in the 2nd half.
Really is painful viewing despite leading, are these really the best players the premier league can offer and yep the kit is sh1te.... Northern Ireland doing well
The opposition number three is by no means fast, but certainly hoovers up at the back... (Over to you... anybody?)
It's difficult to predict any glory for this team at the world cup, a quarter final would probably be seen as a success - you just wouldn't fancy them against the top teams in the world....
Unfair to compare england to germany. Germans have been light years ahead of england after 1970. At least england qualifies to the WC-finals which is more than Holland are doing
Well we at least managed to limp over the line and pick up 3 pts, so we're on 20 pts, almost there as group winner with Slovakia on 15 pts and Slovenia and Scotland on 14 pts.
Well done England! Poor start, but did well to get back into the game first half. By far the better side in the second half, keeping the ball really well and a wonderful goal from Rashford. They showed great character, especially Rashford who was one of those at fault for the first goal, to come from behind to win such an important game. England haven't always done that so that's a good sign. This is a young side with potential............I refuse to slag them off as long as they always show fight and passion, which this lot are doing so far imo. Bags of pace going forward which will always cause problems for any National side. As I say, just potential, but moving slowly in the right direction imo.
England has a team currently the nation should be proud of It's just maybe the tournament football thing they have to capture now and could do well next year France And Germany mostly prepare with a completely different culture and mindset Spain just have talent and a pure style that can at times overcome any football match We adopt the current ethic and forget any hype around what we should be doing England could be top dogs It's the nations expectations and culture that kill our chances every time You earn the right to success it's never given The Englands should back off and demand nothing as most don't even believe England can do well against the teams above or the South Americans I say why not ?
If the teams chances are killed off by fans expecting them to do well in tournaments (which given their record is a pretty daft expectation), then we have a player mentality problem.
We are sadly lacking in midfield guile, time and again we had opportunities but players chose the wrong options and attacks fizzled out. We need to get Lallana fit again as he can often pick the right pass. Shame that Wilshere has become a shadow of what he was capable of a few years ago...
Perhaps Ollie should try playing this pair more.in the 1st Team? QPR's Ryan Manning grabs a brace as Ireland's U21s maintain 100% record in Euro qualifying Reece Grego-Cox was also on target in Baku. please log in to view this image THE 5,000KM TRIP wasn’t in vain as Noel King’s Republic of Ireland Under-21 side picked up a 3-1 victory against Azerbaijan in Baku to maintain their 100% start to European Championship qualifying. QPR’s Ryan Manning scored twice while Reece Grego-Cox was also on the scoresheet. King had described the fixture as a ‘daunting challenge’ given the distance, time-difference and conditions but the win puts them in good shape in Group 5. They currently sit in second place, one point behind leaders Kosovo who have played two games more and who face top seeds Germany this evening. Galway native Manning put the Irish in front after just 9 minutes but the home side equalised moments later. Still, Manning popped up again to grab his second on 37 minutes while his club-mate Grego-Cox put the result to bed by adding a third shortly after the restart. http://www.the42.ie/republic-of-ireland-azerbaijan-3583256-Sep2017/ please log in to view this image
Spot on. I haven't quite given up on Wilshire, who has immense talent, but his injuries seem too frequent and are no doubt taking their toll. We have missed Lallana immensely who was England's best player time after time before his injury. We have also missed Danny Rose, as there isn't another left back half as good as he had become imo. These sides could give any Nation a game imo: -----------------------------------Butland----------------------------------- --------------Cahill---------------Stones-----------Jones--------------- Walker-----------------------Henderson---------------------------Rose ---------------------Lallana-------------------Delle----------------------- -------------------------Kane-----------Rashford------------------------- This is my preffered line up, but, as Southgate doesn't seem keen on 3 at the back it's probably unlikely. Whatever the line up though, the front 4 there should always be the front 4 imo. Maybe this: -------------------------------------Butland---------------------------------- Walker---------Smalling/Cahill----------Jones/Stones--------Rose ----------------------Henderson------------Dier--------------------------- Lallana-----------------------Delle/Wilshire------------------Rashford -------------------------------------Kane-------------------------------------
