I was thinking the same, it's a bit annoying the board complaining that we are constantly skint . We banked nearly all the TV money and now they are pleading poverty for because of covid . If Buendia leaves for big money we better hang onto the England u21 boys .
I’m not convinced by that ITK. Sounds more like someone stirring bullshit. Of course Buendia would happily go back to the PL. I read the article as him saying he’s not going to sulk or force a move. Great. I didn’t realise he holds the record for the most chances created in the PL in a calendar month though. A bit of a meaningless one, but it does show just how much creativity he can offer when on form and also demonstrates to me that lockdown killed us when we were starting to find some form.
The question is why it killed us but not the teams we played after the restart. Why did it affect us so badly but apparently not others? Indeed the suspension seemed to have benefitted the likes of Saints, Everton and West Ham.
The Chief executive sat the board and players down and told them straight. "You spent **** all of the money we gave you, Villa did about £100m , you're just a little tin pot side now go out there kneel before every game put your rainbow laces on and lose every game, make it look real but don't for ****s sake score any goals, ok you can have one goal but only after you are down, now take your brown envelopes this conversation never happened"
We were relegated because our players were not up to Premiership standards - simple as that. Even our fellow relegated Clubs are selling Players for sums way in excess of what we can get for any of ours. As far as this season is concerned I feel that footba ll generally faces a major problem and NCFC are no different. We banked the money we got from our stay in the Premiership and also have the parachute payments which puts us in a better position than most but how long will that money last if the current situation continues? You only have to look at the accounts to see the running costs of the Club. French Clubs have been told to financially plan for another season without spectators and it is reckoned in the press that if that happened 50% of the top league and 90% of the lower league Clubs will not see the season out. I cannot see any of our players attracting sums that the Club could not turn down but if that happened I suspect that most, if not all, of the money would go straight in the bank. Has there been any progress selling the three players not in the squad?
The Trybull family have put "goodbye Norwich" messages on social media, with a move to Turkey rumoured. I don't think he's been involved in any competitive NCFC side. Drmic was involved in our PL2 side recently, scoring. I'd assume he can't be near a move, we wouldn't have risked him getting injured if there was something in the pipeline. Leitner is harder to judge, not sure if recovering from his hernia op is the reason we haven't seen him.
I know why he's nowhere near the first team, I meant if he's not played for the U23s, academy, etc because he isn't fully fit, or because the club don't want to risk an injury. Or because he's near a move. Or because he's deemed such a bad influence he's nowhere near the club.
From the EDP: "Former Norwich City loanee Ondrej Duda has signed for Bundesliga club FC Koln from Hertha Berlin on a permanent basis." Another classy player who came -- and went.
Godfrey to Liverpoo for £50m? https://www.footballfancast.com/liv...rs-norwich-jurgen-klopp-defence-update-gossip
Quite probably, Rob. If they couldn't afford Jamal, I can't see this happening either. Like most blogs, the wording is carefully woven around "they should" rather than "they will".
Klopp must have thought "We upset Norwich by only offering half of what Lewis was worth - so if we offer double Godfrey's value that will redress the balance"?
Edit - EDP take on above article. Barcelona have failed in an attempt to sign Max Aarons from Notwich City. Barcelona wanted to take him on loan but Norwich were not prepared to let him go because there was no obligation to buy. Barcelona will now try to sign Sergino Dest from Ajax https://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/barcelona-bids-for-aarons-turned-down-1-6846032
